Hey all,

 

Playing DA II for the first time (woo!).  I'm trying to romance Isabela currently, and I'm currently approaching the "All That Remains" mother quest.  

 

I've noticed that, despite flirting with her on other occasions, when I completed (I've since reloaded) the All That Remains quest, it's Aveline who comes to talk to me, not Isabela, as I know happens when a romance with her is active.  

 

If I missed the first opportunity to flirt (and sleep with) Isabela (i.e. when she comes over to your house and then thereafter you have the "what's wrong with love" discussion, etc.), am I screwed in terms of romancing her?  Really not looking forward to having to reload all the way back to that point, so if anyone has any experience with this-- i.e. you successfully romanced Isabela, but never had that first night with her in Act II-- your advice would be greatly appreciated.

You missed it. You have to have sex with her when she approaches you at home, and tell her after, that you want to bring love into the relationship and it wasn't just for fun.

What Taki said, you have to confirm after that it's okay to fall in love, you will get a longer convo with Issa where she talks about her childhood (which better illuminates her viewpoint) and Zevran's connection to her past.

 

And not flirt with Merrill, Fenris or Anders as this will monkey the romance as well.

Be careful though, I don't know how it effects other variables, I only used it once to gain some Rivalry with Sebastian because I wanted to max his "approval".

I don't mind re-playing, it's all good.  Just a bit of time lost.  I'm looking forward to finishing the narrative is all, I really like it

I've tested this and it seems there's only one real flirt opportunity to start a romance with Isabela at the beginning of Act 2 during Isabela's Ongoing Search. If you don't flirt then it seems you can't initiate the romance.
