I have a ton of money and want to buy or craft the best bow and the best staff available - Can anyone tell me where I can acquire the ones that do the most damage?

Its really hard to say there are some great purple rare bows/staffs like the bow of artifice.

Pretty much all masterwork or tier 4 bow/staff schematics in the game. All schematics have different slots and slot amounts/ effetcs so it just depends on what you need or want in a staff/bow.

depends on your specialization. for your archer, if you are artificer, go with grunsmann's bow schematic. if assassin, go with bow of the beresaad schematic. For mage, i think the best damage is either encore if you've done trespasser, or staff of corruption if you haven't. If a rift mage or KE though, wrath of lovias might be better due to the high crit chance.

These are all Black Emporium schematics by the way.

Is the Grunsmann bow better than Perserverance?

Is the Grunsmann bow better than Perserverance?

It can equip a grip, and Perserverance can not. So yes!

My vote: Grunsmann + Lovias. I've tried the others and prefer the option to upgrade over maximizing base damage. It's not like Grunsmann and Lovias have sub-par damage -- they are both already at a sick level, relative to other bows and staves.

If you have Descent DLC, buy Tier 4 mats at the first camp merchant. Otherwise, buy Tier 3 mats at the BE.

I'd say Encore is the best staff by far due to its innate proc in addition to being able to be slotted with staff parts and a masterwork. Using the right materials and crafting the right parts you can make an Encore that has some pretty impressive stats. Here's an example of the staff my inquisitor used at the end of my last playthrough:

The great thing is that you have a lot of flexibility. If you want to focus on pure attack% you can, you can pile on a ton of crit damage instead if that's your thing. I went with a nice balanced itemization with more emphasis on crits.

I generally prefer the Elgarnan Enaste bow.

Damage: 24 Metal
Offense: 20 Leather
Utility: 12 Leather
Offense: 6 Metal
Masterwork: 1 Masterwork
Explosive Arrows

Generally get 40% critical chance, 24 Cunning, 12% attack.

Or 70% Critical Damage, 24 Dexterity, 12% attack

That bow yes. The highest damage from staff I ever got was from encore with mw battlemage grip and mw archon? Blade. Had approx +20% attack and +112% crit damage on the staff. That is if you use ring of doubt. Burst energy barrage and chain lightning for all critical hits from eb. On a fire dragon a frost staff was doing 3,3k for every eb hit. Without eb ring. Flanking walking bomb with deepstalker sigil was doing about 16k with the 900% upgrade toggle min maxed at lvl 24 and 9k on the 500%. Flanking did not work with fade cloak or fire mine unfortunately.

Where do you buy the schematic for this staff?

Trespasser:

Ayy I found the encore schematics.

It's the "% chance to sing an offensive buff for allies within 8 meters"

You find it if you turn immediately left out of the first eluvian. There will be a skeleton with a halla  (HOLLA) statue, which will send you on a scavenger quest around the palace for them. After finding them all, they send you to a top hat. Clicking on the top hat will give you the encore schematic.

Spoiler

It comes with an open blade and grip slot, so it's actually quite good. I think it beats out the Staff of Corruption for highest possible attack % for a staff.

Necromancers, you might want this.

Depends on what you want and need as a mage/archer as many here stated its on personal taste and need.

I am on a inferno rift mage playthrough and i am using Wrath of Loviass for critical chance/damage to land up to 50k crits with fire spells as a mage which is insane for a mage.
