Sooo I already have citadel (obviously not missing out on companion stuff). What else is worth it? They still aren't 'cheap' on psn, as sony are a bunch of....yeah.
From ashes for companion?

From Ashes is good, Leviathan is okay, don't bother with Omega.

It really depends on what you like.

From Ashes gives you one (very fast) mission against cerberus, but it will also give you a new squad-mate that alters the game and several missions.

Omega is a totally independent arc, with 2 temporary squad-mates (actually, most of the time its just you and aria).  You can not leave the dlc in order to do other stuff in the game. If features lots of combat against cerberus, new enemies, tons (I do mean TONS) of new itens, plus new guns. Sadly, you can´t take any of your squad-mates with you from the new game, and the 2 squad-mates will never become available to you again.

Leviathan: Several mini-missions and an open arc that you can do all at once or intercalating with the new game. It will slightly alter the final sequence of the game. It offers a lot of background info regarding the reapers and leviathan. There are no new enemies, and you will face reaper forces.

Citadel is a very large file. It features a funny adventure when the crew is on vacation (a little too funny for some people), several comedic cutscenes once the main episode is complete, the possibility to invite all the surviving squad-mates to a party (well, except for mordin) it will allow you to use a mass effect 1 style riffle (with infinite ammo but that will overheat), a new faction of enemies, 2 very interesting bosses and access to the combat arena. The arena is pretty cool, since you can use squad-mates from ME2 and 3 on it, and it will also give you an infinite flow of credits (pretty useful on console when you do not have cheat commands). It takes some time, but it can be done.

Personally, I think they are all worth purchasing.

If you can wait a bit, they might be cheap after Christmas. I bought them February this year for 3-5 bucks each, that was really cool, maybe they do it each year :)

As for recommendations, From Ashes and Leviathan is a must imo, I can do without Omega (you can't take your squad with you). Only played it once and never again.

Omega never gets any love. :( Personally, the DLC has grown on me. I liked it from the beginning. It provides a good amount of combat compared to the rest of the game. But I also find it has the most consistent roleplaying theme of the series. Instead of Renegade being just whatever Paragon is not, and Paragon not being very well defined, you get a clear differentiation between choosing to be mission focused or potentially letting the mission suffer in order to do the "honorable" thing.

Yea I don't know why. It is a rather fun DLC bit.

It's also one of the few missions where I don't feel preached to and all possible endings are good endings depending on the sort of Shep you're playing.

My main beef with Omega is that once you start the mission, you´re comitted to it till the end. Leviathan and Citadel can be digested one piece at a time, should you prefeer. The main adventure in Citadel, even though it may last as long as Omega, is more agile, and you can alter squad-composition.

Also, Omega is very repetitive since you can not alter the party composition. It´s always Aria and sometimes also Nyreen. All other dlcs have a certain replay value based on the fact that you can choose your team. While I do not dispute that Omega is a great fun to play (quite enjoyable in fact), it lacks replay value. A cardinal sin in the mass effect saga. In terms of action and combat, it was by far for me the most enjoyable DLC to play during the first time, but the least pleasing when it comes to replays. For this same reason I despise the hammerhead DLC in ME2 and the Normandy Crash site. Always the same experience, no matter your class of your squad. They can be interesting the first time, but soon joy turns to pain.

As for the sales... Well, I think bioware games, with their immense replay value are certainly worth being purchased at full price. Including DLC. Considering that I did spend hundreds of hours in these games, they were totally worth the full price.

If you´re on a budget, maybe you should prioritize whats more important for you to have.

If I only had money to buy one DLC, it would certainly be From Ashes. Understand, specially since you´re coming from a Mass Effect 2 experience, that a major letdown in Mass Effect 3 is seeing how few companions you have. One will have to be persuaded to join the crew, another one can only join after a large mandatory portion of the game has been done, and theres a chance that you may only have 3 squad-mates during the whole game, depending on if some people from ME1 and 2 survived.  You may deseperately want more diversity among your crew, and From Ashes mitigates this problem.

Citadel is also a very good purchase since it will give you the combat arena. You can even face the collectors faction while there. Until citadel was released, when you developed your character, upgrading him so that you could have discounted prices at stores was something to be deeply considered. After Citadel, it you do not need to worry about it. It takes time, but you have a source of infinite credits as long as you play and win at the arena. The arena alone is reason enough to recommend this DLC.

Leviathan: You will uncover more clues about the reapers past and the previous cicles. I find the combat sections a little uninspired, but it has a very interesting story, it will have fully vocal squad-mates, some great visuals (specially near the end) and nice dialogues. You can also play it in separate chapters.

Omega: This one, while not being bad, can be avoided because it will offer virtually no impact on the game. It can be avoied if youre on a tight budget, but I dont think you should totally discard it. It does have some strong points. Its a self-cointained narrative, with good character development and discovery about them. Theres also the constant bickering between the two ladies with shepard right in the middle with the 2 of them wanting you to backup their own position. I think it constitutes insteresting drama, specially when it´s interactive. This DLC, once completed, assuming you did all the side-missions contained in it, purchased every item at the shops and collected every item will leave your shepard very different when he or she returns to the normandy. It gives you tons of XP points, itens and guns. And money. And assets for the war. Depending on your finantial situation you may wish to delay purchase of it, but don´t be so quick to discard it. Should you want, you can always go to youtube, watch someone playing it and decide for yourself if it´s worth or not.

.....

Never seen character selection as adding any replay value to any part of this series. After replaying Mass Effect 3 times back to back to get all the character trophies. Mass Effect 2 twice back to back and now my insanity play though with Mass Effect 3. Character selection will do nothing to make me replay. Particularly when the only thing I'm vaguely interested in is different character dialogue. Which helpfully youtube has me covered.

Yeah, youtube can be a big time savior when it comes to dialogue combinations between squad-mates.

But some of us are also into combat and mastering dominance over all six classes. And when it comes to that, altering the squad-composition may be vital since its a good thinking (specially at harder settings) to pickup squad-mates that will perform well against the opposition you may face and reinforce shepard by covering the area he or she may lack .

I understand that it may be irrelevant for you, but for many of us this can add a lot of flavor to the game and replay value.

I dont know if some of you played baldurs gate 2. Its a fantastic title, but the very first hour is a bit of a pain because theres a mandatory large dungeon you must travel in order to escape, and with the same companions. All the mass effect games start with a little irenicus dungeon, forcing you to use the same squad for one or two missions. ME3 is the least guilty in this regard since aside from anderson, liara and james at least the virmire survivor can add some versatility to the gameplay.  However, Omega, as fun as it is to play, does feel like a large irenicus dungeon and right in the middle of the game.

Its a shame that the budget for DLCs is so tight. Well, except for citadel, but it did cost us more. Omega could have been so great if instead of just aria in some sections (maybe just the initial and final sequences with Aria) you could have chosen from members of the several gangs: Nyreen, one vorcha (how cool is that?), one batarian  (Braaaaay), one krogan, one asari sentinel, one Salarian engineer, perhaps even Zaed if he was alive. It could have been even greater if the krogan in question was the old patriarch (if he survived ME2).

The combat in Omega is already great. And light-years ahead of the totally boring fights in Leviathan. The only thing it lacks is diversity. Aria was so influential and had so many forces at her command that its hard to believe that she and shepard had to venture alone for most of the DLC.

Omega is great. But is also wasted potential when we consider how EPIC it could have been if more money and development time was thrown at it.

From Ashes - The mission is not very long but it is an interesting one. plus it does add a new squad member to your team permanently, so there are more cut scenes and party banter which I remember being very funny in my last ME3 playthrough

It is a rare playthrough that I'd consider From Ashes optional.

'none' of them are 'worth it' so to speak, but are pretty much essential if you want the full on ME3 experience.

For me the first pick would be From Ashes. The mission is filled with prothean backstory, the combat never lasts long enough that you get bored with it, and Javik adds a lot to the game entire. That last part is very important, as the other DLCs may be good but once they are over you don't feel their impact any longer.

Leviathan is a nice mission, a big part of it is that you can split it up and play it at your own pace. Most people I've talked to though tend to do it all in one as "it makes sense. why would you stop looking for a Reaper killer when you have solid information on it." Again for me the combat sections never outstay their welcome.

The big problem for me is the lack of payoff at the end of the DLC. It's not that the end of Leviathan is bad per say, just that it feels as if it were written to fill in gaps at the end of the game not for a payoff of its own. Given it was released after I'd already finished the game, it just disappointed.

Now personally I would avoid Omega entirely. I don't like the character of Aria, nor am I fond of the combat in the game. Given that obviously Aria features heavily and the combat sections had me thinking "oh for god's sake! get on with it", it's a DLC I don't even bother playing these days.

Ashes is a pretty good deal because it gives you another squadmate who has some interesting dialogue in some places, and is more background info.

Everyone hates on Omega, but honestly I like replaying it more than most of the other DLCs.  The actual mission is more fun than the others.

Leviathan was somewhat interesting the first time, but without any mystery it loses a great deal of appeal.  Combat is just the same old reaper combat from other missions, except that you get to do some drone escort and pizza running from MP.

Yes, they are.

We are close to the end of the year, so I guess it may be wise to wait. Maybe you can get a nice 50% discount at a Christmas sale.

Personally, I do not regret having purchase them all at full price. Not considering the many times I replayed the game.
