From Ashes is a nope for me. The mission is short and uninteresting. The new squad-mate alone isn't worth full price in my opinion. He doesn't have a personal quest or a paramour story arc. There just wasn't enough content for me to get into his character. Also, I didn't need another biotic, but maybe you do. Having to pay for a companion, especially at launch, was bad form. At this point, they ought be giving away From Ashes just like when EA unlocked Zaeed for people who bought ME2 used.

Leviathan is more connected to the main plot. If you like mysteries it might be up your alley. The conclusion of the DLC was impressive from a storytelling standpoint but was a lost opportunity for an awesome boss fight in my opinion. There is a tiny bit of dialogue from your LI if you take them with you on the last mission of the DLC, so if you are into juicing your romance for all it's worth there's that. You also unlock a bonus power in this DLC which is useful with organic enemies. I really like that bonus power. If you like digging into Mass Effect lore this might be worth full price.

Omega was fun, but completely unnecessary. I liked it; my husband hates it. If you enjoyed playing the missions on Omega in ME2, then you might enjoy it. If you play femShep it can also be a real girl power moment in the Mass Effect world running around with 2 other powerful ladies. Even though I like the DLC, I do find the ending rather abrupt and unsatisfying. The DLC unlocks two biotic bonus powers and a neat assault rifle. I'd say see if you can buy it on sale.

With all the Mass Effect 3 DLCs, you are better off having them ready to go for your first play through. I think I would have enjoyed Leviathan, Omega, and Citadel a lot more if I hadn't beaten the game and then gone back to play them.

It depends on how into the Mass Effect series you are. If you love it then you should buy all the DLCs. When a game I love has an overpriced DLC (that's relevant to the story) then I tend to just pay for it. This was the case for Omega ($15?!) for 3-4 hours of content. Citadel though was worth it; one of the few DLCs I've seen actually worth $15. From Ashes and Leviathan depend, again, on how into the series you are. Leviathan is longer but From Ashes gives you a new, and very entertaining, squadmate in Javik.

As for Arrival for ME2... No... It's a little over an hour for $7 (when I bought it) in what's basically an epilogue leading up to ME3. I was very into the series and got enough replayability to make it worth the money but casual players just don't need it. Its events are only mentioned briefly 2-3 times in ME3.

I bought all of the ME3 DLCs twice!!! That's around $100 or more. I enjoy the game more on PC, but my manifest is on PS3. So I have a dilemma.

all ME is 50% off on origin at the moment, but doesn't let you view DLCs until you have purchased base games, so no idea how much they are on origin.

It's not on sale on Origin.  Very rarely does Bioware DLC go on sale, I've only heard of it happening once and I missed it.

However, the Digital Deluxe Upgrade DOES go on sale on Origin, which saves you a couple dollars on From Ashes and has some other knickknacks.  EA hasn't really figured out how this whole "sale" thing is supposed to work.

do the DLCs go on sale on steam or anything? I guess I'll just have to stick with ps3 otherwise. Im hoping a sale soon on psn but eh. I need to hook my ps up to the router to be able to even download anything on it.

From Ashes gives you much more fun scenes and gameplay as you think. Buy it asap.

Omega is instant buy if you like Aria from ME2 and want to know about her secret operation about retaking the Omega from General Oleg. Also if you can read all 4 Invasion comics before you start this DLC so you know much more about the prequel of this Omega DLC.

Leviathan however hints you with informations about the ancient times. I think this is the worst DLC from the 3.

Also the Collector's Edition N7 warfare gear is worth too because N7 Hurricane, N7 Valkyrie, N7 Eagle and N7 Crusader and some cool dresses for Liara and Tali.

I really enjoy all the DLC's, even Omega. I couldn't play the game and skip any of them, and Javik is one of my favorite additions to the game.

Javik changes the game so much that I would recommend an entire play-through without him and one with him just in order to notice the changes. Without giving out spoilers, some missions (like the one featuring krogan scouts, the one where you rescue eve and specially the mission on the asari home-world) are greatly enhanced by his presence. Not to mention he will have on ambient conversations aboard the ship and his integration into the Citadel dlc during the party.

Not to mention that if youre using a soldier class shepard, Javik´s gun is a fine addition. And she works just like a weapon from Mass Effect 1. it´s kinda like a hybrid between the M7 lancer riffle and the collector heavy weapon from ME2. And it allows you the chance to play ME3 as if it was ME1 (in terms of weapons cooling down instead of ejecting clips) as soon as you conclued the 2 introductory chapters on the earth and on mars. You can recruit javik as soon as you leave the citadel (prior even to having garrus assumin he survived me2 and enabling edi as a squad-mate). So you only need to play ME3 in ME2 style for 3 battles (Earth, Mars, Eden Prime) .

The scaling damage of the weapon and the way it dissolves enemies are also cool bonuses.

From Ashes is not just one more mission. The very short mission itself is the least important factor. The new weapon and the squad-mate are the main attractions. Javik mitigates the fact that ME3 has much less squad-mates than 2, and his weapon allows you to enjoy most of the ME3 combat experience in a very different way.

I was glad to get the CE. I love the packaging for the game, but I'm a huge fan of the weapons pack. Silly but the hoodie finally frees my FemShep of the stupid dress for casual wear.

I would say Citadel, but since you said you already have it than I would recommend From Ashes. It's a short DLC, but Javik and going back to Eden Prime are worth it. Really I enjoyed all of the DLC's, each added to the ME3 experience for me.

Sooo I already have citadel (obviously not missing out on companion stuff). What else is worth it? They still aren't 'cheap' on psn, as sony are a bunch of....yeah.
From ashes for companion?

From Ashes. Honestly the only good things from the other dlcs are the soundtracks and armors/weapons.

Blowmega is trash and Levi just makes things worse, though not entirely bad.

Blowmega ruined Aria for me. I f'n liked her BAMF attitude from ME2 and she carried herself like a boss. In Omega, not even counting the glitches, she sounds like a total blowhard leading a bunch of losers into the dumbest battle ever and doesn't even mention her daughter's death at the hands of Cerberus so rather than having a vendetta against TIM or Kai Leng, she has this rage at Petrovsky, who doesn't even hurt her personally aside from staging a coup on Omega. It ignores the novels (the canon ones), and logic. Worst of all, the script is beyond terrible. I started a "My People" count Spoony style on Omega alone and got to around 15 before running out of ****s to give.

I got from Ashes now on PS3 as I didn't want to get too far in my ME3 playthrough before it goes in sale. I was HOPING that they would go in sale this month on psn seeing as ME2 is free on ps plus right now and it's 'n7' day saturday. If they don't go in sale on saturday either then I guess I'll take the plunge and get leviathan and possibly Omega.

If it's only Leviathan and Omega that are left, they can be played at any stage, and thus also very late in the game, before the point of no return :) I keep Leviathan as one of the last few missions mostly, so you could still keep on playing ME3 for quite some time and hope it gets cheaper until then.

I like From Ashes. I usually play it after the coup to bring Ashley/Kaidan on the mission. The best part of the dlc is getting Javik as a squadmate

Yeah thats why I haven't bought them yet. Save it until I get to there and if it's still not in sale...well I dunno, might bite the bullet. I do want to replay ME2 though, mostly because this run has Ashley alive and I realize I way preferred Kaidan. And I want to try the Thane romance and cry cry cry.

Omega has some tough battles, but it will also let you evolve a lot and gain lots of items.

I would leave leviathan for the end. You dont need to do it after Sanctuary, but its a good idea to play it after the citadel coup (it will allow you to recruit the virmire survivor), and also after the situation between geths and quarians is resolved (depending on your decisions you may recruit tali).

Normally, I do Omega and Leviathan as soon as Thesia becomes available. As for citadel, I recommend only doing it after Sanctuary, so you will have all your squad-mates with you. If Miranda survived, she will do some cameos on the citadel dlc, as well as all the other survivors at this points, except for Mordin.

From Ashes is the one I constantly change. Sometimes prior to recruiting Garrus. Sometimes after Edi becomes available, sometimes after the virmire survivor becomes available. The sooner you recruit him, the more scenes you will get with him. The later you recruit him, more squad-mates will be able to participate on his mission and react to his discovery. Theres even one situation in which you may recruit him very lately, close to the endgame, similar to delaying recruiting liara in ME1.
