A nice gesture for BIOWARE to make up for the continued RtO release date confusion would be to …

Really, you seem to have become a customer that has been seduced into thinking that he needs to take the side of his supplier. The supplier and customer interests are not exactly alike to be sure. There really is not anything more to say about that.
Again, it is irrelevant if a firm named EA publishes games or a firm named XX. The thing to think about is where does all that money come from that EA is given (lent) to have games developed. That comes from the 2% who OWN. Assets (money) are not lost, they are just transferred back to the 2 % that OWNS. Corporate money losses are in a way comparable to the graduated income tax, there are there intentionally to prevent wealth from accumulating at lower levels.
But this post is about minor DA:O DLC wishes and this all is way off topic Madcat.
So what would you like to see in a minor DLC comparable to the size of Blood Dragon Armour?

Beautiful armor but I refuse to play with cheat mods.
Agreed, all the more reason for BIOWARE to make this armour available as an official and balanced minor DLC for all platforms.

That armour is freeking awsome........
Judging by the images, Ghost_11's armour is sharper and more detailed than the standard DA:O armour that is available now. On the other hand I understand that on the PC everything is a lot more detailed than on my 360.
Still the details are stunning.

While I do love that armor and have given it to Alistair in my current game, I wish there were more variations of the light armor. Heck, I don't even need it free.
Not to mention that if BioWare starts giving away stuff for free, that starts them down the slippery slope of "you did this before!"
The light, heavy and massive armour have the least 3-D model variations in DA:O. The medium armour offers most variations I think. Personally I find the light armour the most boring after a couple of playthroughs, but still better than the mage options. It might make an interesting opinion poll which armour type customers would like to see more 3-D variations of. The tiny DLC that I propose makes use of existing 3-D models, which would make it easy to implement. As it is, there are roughly only two 3-D types of massive armour (human and dwarven).

I don't know, a Bioware developer is simply an extension of Bioware in my eyes. I suppose you an look at it differently but Bioware the company could have easily said not to make and release anything for the community so in that regards it kind of it like Bioware letting you play with some free toys every once in a while. Hell mods themselves are allowed and encouraged with the release of the toolset, not something they were ever obligated to do. A free tool set that gives the game unlimited like for the PC version, another instance of Bioware giving to the community.
It's not something they're required to do but think of it this way: The more longevity a game has, the longer a company has to treat those players as prospects and launch all sorts of marketing at them for upcoming releases as well as gathering business intel on their habits.
Let's be honest, even RPGs like BG, NWN, KotOR, etc can't be played for more than a month. What happens after the initial novelty is over? You can let people entertain themselves for a while longer through user-generated content, expansions, or incentives like multiple playthroughs (which I hate btw) to keep them playing. To the customer, it's added value, to the developer, it's added opportunity.
Successful companies don't think on a 1 year scale, they often plan ahead 5 years, 10 years, even 20+ years. Releasing that toolset can be a strategic move towards extending how much "mind-share", and ultimately market-share, we give them in those years.
On the outside Bioware may consider themselves "customer-orientated" but I think they jumped off that boat a good while ago. To me customer oriented developers are companies like Paradox Interactive, Matrix Games, Battlegoat, Stardock and their little bastard child developers. Companies that don't come out of the woodwork with lawyered up statements, 110% safe posts, political correctness, and all that other nonsense and they releate with the community more as fellow gamers then as customers. One of the reasons I've got respect for people like Gaider, Chee, Woo, Kirby, and a few others is they come and say what needs to be said at times. Bioware as a whole though has shifted and stuck with a more business/consumer relationship model.
I think that what EA has in mind (and yes, I'm making assumptions here) is a good way of redefining their business/consumer relationship. If you can figure out what your customers want more closely, you're better at giving them what they want, and in return they will reward you by buying your stuff. Consider it a complex, consultative sale. So if this is what their corporate vision represents, they're not doing great at executing the actions that backs that up. In other words, to a consumer it screams BS.
Though with respect to *today's* update by Mr Wachter, I can say they are on the right direction to customer-oriented.
I don't believe you are in any real position to tell me what I should and should not expect. I understand fully that Bioware doesn't give a damn about me and they know I don't give a damn about them.
Then why build this site? Why force every new purchaser of DAO to register their code here? Why are you still here, representing your opinion? They DO give a damn about you. The idea behind this is to build a cohesive gaming community and in some way - by your continued presence here - it must work. We gamers are a vast market and Bioware/EA make efforts to capture and capitalize on our loyalties and interest. The fact is, there is an intent to develop a relationship with their customers, not just as arbitrary sources of revenue, but as consumers with expecations and values to be be managed. And that intent seems contradictory with their behaviour in recent memory.
I don't expect anything from them. When they put out a product I'll judge it and if it interests me I'll buy it, and out relationship is over with until the next case where they release a product.
If Bioware's past actions and community-involvement mean so much to you, then clearly you judge them based not only on their game releases. Community interaction and feedback provides value to both the developer and the consumer community.
What happens between releases is none of my busniess or any of my concern, what happens to them internally is of no real importance to me, well I own quite a bit of EA stock so it kind of does but that's another point for another day. As far as product quality at release it it up to a level I expect, which is the only thing I ever expect.
I'm really not talking about the internal workings of the company. While that topic is of interest to me as project manager, their outward relations with the community as they appear on this forum is what interests me more. If you are indeed a stockholder, both of these topics should matter to you.

That's my point exactly though. Those people are not playing the base campaign for 7 years over and over and over. They're playing user-generated content and expansions. Otherwise, they got some serious issues...

No one is forcing you to read them either. God forbid a forum is actually used for ... discussion!
