Did I Hallucinate These Challenges?

I recall that when HB finally went live, there were challenges (under Combat or Exploration, but I believe Combat) for operation completions on Heartbreaker difficulty by faction with the fifth star coming at 250 operations. Ie, there was a HB challenge for Demons, RT, Vints, etc. Did I totally invent those challenges, or did they once exist? They aren't in the HQ, I already checked there. Did anyone else see those?

If they did exist, this thread is also a petition to bring them back. More long-term/stretch goal challenges, please! Legendary Slayer and Banker are nice, but a few more would be better.

As far as I care, those challenges can stay buried with the actual content we're never getting.

At any rate, don't hold your breath. They won't touch this game again unless they really, really have to.

It should still be there. I run with the final total you get from it: "Unstoppable"

You're referring to the HB challenge that has 1 star for each mission (ie, 5 missions = 5 stars) which gives you the title Unstoppable Force, aren't you? I'm talking about faction-specific Heartbreaker challenges that required 250 operation completions per faction to complete. There were at least 3 of them for the 3 original factions: RT, Vints, and Demons.

gotcha, no that was removed. It was made into the one I am referring to but it never worked..so it turned into just straight 5 HB runs

OK so they did exist, cool. In that case, my petition has changed to: increase the HB missions challenge to 250 (or something more than 5).

Want to talk about a challenge that was there then vanished? There was briefly one for Deep Roads exploration.

Was that map just too broken to ever be released? Does anyone have any scoop or concept what went so wrong with it?

It's a bummer that this never came to fruition. Could have really done a lot in the eyes of many players and the community at large if we had another map, or some kind of map with multiple varieties like the original 3. As is MP has just slightly more map options then DA2. (Sorry couldn't resist)

This, I'll never get it. I've chatted with Luke a bunch of times during beta testing and he pretty much confirmed that it was coming, (with his :bandit: signature) but idk what happened really.

He even told me the reason the DS (genlock, hurlock, shriek) had to be separated from the Dwarves for this reason alone, so it doesn't really add up..

I miss Luke.  His absence is the most telling sign that support has indeed ended.  :crying:

I get the feeling that they planned to do a lot more content & challenges, but someone from on-high yanked the plug, as I found it quite odd that the last to dlc's came out so close to one another that you barely had time to enjoy Descent before Trespasser came out, thus signalling the end of DAI, anything else would have just been canned, so unfortunately, it's gone forever.

Just my opinion

Like reworking the skill trees was also something Luke mentioned few months back. Never happened either.

I think in the case of Descent and Trespasser, it had to do with different teams working on each.

Yeah, think it was mentioned on a stream that Descent was basically done by the Shadow Realms team after that was canned, so they had time on their hands.

Ah, my bad, I didn't know that, thanks for the info.

I have a feeling that this ultimately has something to do with the Game of the Year edition.  Different teams working on different DLCs aside, I think part of the reason things felt maybe a little unceremoniously wrapped up is because they wanted to put out the Game of the Year edition - which includes all the DLCs - in time for the holiday buying season.  Honestly, I was hoping for more than three story-based DLCs for Inquisition's single player, and now I'm sad that I seemed to miss out on a lot of challenges and content for multiplayer because I didn't really start MP until a month or two ago.

That being said, I'd like to hope that whatever the reason behind the apparent stop on Inquisition - maybe it means they're setting out to work on DA4.  xD
