Spoilers!!! ...sort of. But also not sort of...

I know this might be late as far as discussing the events that are assumed to happen after Trespasser's DLC, but there were some suggestions I had in mind. And I really, really wanted to see how people felt of them.

To start off I am going to say that I'm pro-the-return-of-inquisitor. HOWEVER, the suggestion I have isn't solely, 'It must be the inquisitor!! IT MUST BE!!!!!' Because I do understand that it would be cool to have a new protag. Mainly due to the different origin stories... and for me, that's really the only reason.

Anyways,

My suggestions for Da4 is to have it be about a new protag. With origin stories. That way everyone who wants a new protag can really connect with that character and maybe see that character carry on to Da5. But I have more to add than just that.

This Da4 character starts off having nothing to do with Inquisitor or Solas, but they're suddenly pulled into some bizarre situations that imply someone's behind it. And it's not a, 'well someone for some reason is taking an interest in me.' But rather, 'Wow, there's all this chaos going on! Wonder what happened? Well I got pulled in so I'm going to find out.'

And as usual the character is forced to make decisions that will either help, or worsen matters.

And in the game they bring back ACT 1 and 2 and 3 like they had in Da2. Once you complete an Act you unlock a secret-type-like mission that you play as the inquisitor!! And through this you experience how the decisions you made as the new character have really impacted and changed things in Tevinter! And as the Inquisitor moves through their little missions, and learns about the new character, they discover that the new character is someone who can help them in fighting Solas. It could even be brought in later as like a DLC or something.

So it is kind of like a daul-protag situation but the majority you play as a new character who, not only has to deal with some of what Solas is starting, but a lot of potential problems Tevinter faces. And while you control how the inquisitor reacts to thing's they won't have those decisions that really change things because we'll be playing them as somewhat of an observer to what the new character has unleashed. The inquisitor is there to witness the aftermath of what the new protag has left behind. So like if the new protag saves said person instead of killing said person, inquisitor is forced to deal with them, and we get to see what impact that choice had, for example if that person appeared to be an innocent, which is why new protag left them alive, but was really a maniac. and if said person IS killed, then inquisitor investigates what occurred.

I also think, if done right, there could be made multiple situations in which the new protag is given a reason to fight Solas. It could be done similarly to how it was done with inquisitor, except it wouldn't be nearly as personally because the new protag never actually sees Solas, all they know is they were somehow manipulated into being an agent of his later on in the game, and even hinted to that at the beginning. Like say there is a Duncan like character who is actually working for Solas and you are drawn to them and as to why varies on which origin you play. Could be that character pissed you off or even saved you, and maybe did so unintentionally, so you feel compelled to follow said character and every now and then manages to find them only to be pulled away by something happening in tevinter.

By the end of it new protag has made the discovery of the Duncan like character by an agent of Solas. Then  is found by inquisitor and either forced or asked to help. Now here is another suggestion I have. The new character is given a personal choice at the end as was the inquisitor. Regarding the decision to either save Solas or kill him. But instead this character has the choice to kill him, or be his agent. Because, it could be that the new character actually agrees with Solas! So they 'help' the inquisitor as a double agent of Solas.

Now we go into Da5 where its an awakening style type thing. You can either play as Inquisitor, or the Da4 protag. Hopefully by then, because think of it, this is a few years away, they'll be able to manage this without it being to complicated of a thing to make.

And I forgot to mention that the new protag should NOT have ANY companions from the previous game... Harding included. And the inquisitor only has two if any... Dorian and Harding. I wouldn't be opposed to Cullen because he has a Mabari... maybe he lets you borrow it... so like Dorian, Harding and Mabari. Okay, yes, definitely that because if your inquisitor isn't a warrior, you'll need one so the Mabari is a good choice. Plus you need to be kept on the down-low so your group has to be small. And it also helps to keep things from getting too complicated... because this is probably an idea that might be hard to accomplish.

Anyways please let me know what you all think!

Maybe you have thoughts that could totally refine this plot? Or maybe think it's absolutely stupid

Or maybe you all have some detailed ideas of your own?! Or maybe this idea has already been said and I just don't know it.

Also I'm sorry for my terrible grammar and I'm also sorry if I didn't make any sense.

I don't think the game is going to be featured as a "beat Solas" entry yet.

My best guess is, since Tevinter is the hint, that we will have to work within Dorian's political faction with him being a main quest giver or something similar.

Depending on his and Calpernias role in Inquisition they are going to eventually both be held up as candidates as new Archon, which the player with growing power might be able to influence.

I think Solas will show his hand somewhere during Dragon Age 4's narrative, at which point Tevinter will be gearing its resources to deal with him along with the Inquisition and perhaps the southern Wardens in Dragon Age 5.

That's a rather interesting idea. While usually I'm an impatient person as far as things go, I wouldn't mind having to wait till Da5 to see Solas' story resolved.

It feels like one of those slow-burn type of things. I thought so anyways.

Not to say I'd mind if they did resolve it in Da4 though. But I can see them waiting with it till Da5.

Crazy thought, the reason the HoF wasn't included in DAI is they are going to be protagonist in another DA possibly DA5 that defeats Solas. (runs away hands over head)
