Overall, I'm offended by this thread ... worst biotic is like asking for the worst type of venereal disease. Sure, some are less awful than others, but they're all terrible!

Well..the question was about least favorite and not necessarily the 'worst'.

I do, however, agree with your sentiment even if I don't agree with the analogy you picked. :P

No, I won't argue with you there.  I love Pull, but both Drell are better without it, assuming you have any sort of decent weapon to use.  That's not simply because Pull is bad though - it's because Drell passives and fitness are so good.  On most characters, you can take a little bit out of passives (or a LOT out of fitness) to put into another power instead of skipping it.  With Drell, you absolutely can't skip their passives, and it's really painful to pass up the movement speed bonus from R6 fitness, especially when Drell rely on movement speed to stay alive.

This is what the op`s question boils down too. No biotic power is bad, it`s more that some are bad on a kit cos this or that reason.

Like pull is amasing on the justicar, if you run her with the acolyte. if you run her with say a wraith, or arc pistol, then pull loses more or less all it`s use on her.

Again, imo

I don't care for biotic orbs. If they primed then it would be a different story, but they don't. Only seems useful on a full biotic team, but in that scenario all biotic powers are useful anyway, even slash.

As long as your bring your Revenant on your space mage. Who needs biotic ragdoll/CC when you've a wall of bullets to hide behind?

Slash, way too slow of a windup/

I actually love pull.  It might not be the best power but its insanely fun and awesome.  Yeah, lash, stasis or whatever can pierce shields, singularity can prime anyone so as pure crowd control or boomer its got its limits.  So by the numbers it doesn't look fantastic.  But watching enemies slowly float by or away into the sky is epic and epic trumps numbers every day all day.

I don't like Seeker Swarms. Mine or theirs. I'd rather have biotic orbs any day. And I like Lash because anything that ragdolls phantoms is gold in my book.

Lash.

I get why people like using it to troll teammates but I find it to be a lame power. My favorite biotic ability though is most definitely Reave. Oh Reave how I love thee..

On the Volus Adept they are very mediocre as he need to use them offensively, and as an offensive power they kind of suck. They are quite good though on the Volus Vanguard as he really need to have them on to make him work.

Every time I play the Smashdept or the Batdept I wish Biovar would have given them something else instead of Lash.

Agree for the smashdept, but for the batdept lash/warp or warp/lash are too fun

Anyway I feel the character where it is less needed is the batguard (what were they thinking, give him ballistic blades or inferno grenades ^_^ )

Have you tried giving the Volus Adept a real gun? No need to use Biotic Orbs offensively when they can provide a big enough cooldown buff to use heavy weapons, and still keep up the dr/regen from Shield Boost.

U meant "expose" is a not nice evolution (rather count) in conjuntion with "vulnerability" as passives 4 the orbs.

Using them offensively is kind of his thing, I'd find it rather pointless to just use him for a good gun as every kit in the game could be played that way. De-buffing and setting off explosions with the orbs from Incendiary ammo is his thing, it's just that he falls short compared to other kits that do the same thing way better.

Most kits have a detonator as well, so that is a pointless arguement to make.

I don't really see how it could be, if you enjoy gimping yourself with the Volus Adept only with shooting your gun and spamming shield boost then by all means go ahead, playing him the right way with using the orbs offensively would make him marginally better, but still pretty useless compared to as one example the Tsent who can't set up his own power combos either.

Technically TSent can detonate Tech Bursts with Overload + Warp.

Right you are, technically it's possible if you have a very low re-charge speed as Warp can set it of the OL effect, but that would be a quite sub-optimal way to play him.

Apparently any way that isn't your way is suboptimal.

By taking some suboptimal evolutions (Overload 5b anyone? Tech Armor 6a?) I was able to make a TSent with a 2.42s Overload cooldown. Overload primes for 5 seconds so this should be plenty of time to throw Warp at a primed target... even with Warp's travel time if you are close enough.

Back on topic: why the hell do Biotic Orbs have such a long cooldown? They really do suck, don't they?

No not really, but as it's a game it comes down to numbers in the end, some combinations results in better numbers than others. The only argument I've really done here is that playing the Volus Adept with a pure shield boost spam is not the best way to go and that the Volus adept in general is one of the worst kits in the game.

Setting off powerful biotic explosions at close range on armored targets through singularity and smash is his thing (and smash is cool I'll give him that), but I wish he would be able to do it at range also like the vanilla human....
