Can we name our save games please?

Also, if save games could have more useful file names and maybe be organised in directories outside of the game, like previous MEs did, but DAI didn't, that would be nice. If only for when you're looking to backup stuff.

You are correct; it is.

Yes, but you can't give individual saves specific file names, so going back to a specific point in a playthrough is a pain.

Not really, I usually reference a specific save by the time played (as well as Character name).

Time does help narrow things down, but being able to give it a specific name would help more

Id' really like this too. When I have about 50-100 saves per character (depending on the game), it really becomes a chore to find the right one when I want to replay something.
And the intelligable nature of the actual save files in the savegame folder, while being a bit pointless, could work as long as they don't limit us to 250 saves. If we could have as many saves as we wanted, I'd keep all of my save files in the same directory anyway and simply find the right saves within the game.
But when they limit us to 250 save slots, you have to know which saves belong to a given character when you move them in and out of the save game folder, but as intelligable as these file names are, it doesn't work. So, one or the other, please.

Yes, please. Having a bunch of 'Save -Skyhold' saves for every character is super frustrating
. Naming saves is super useful.

YES PLEASE! I miss this feature from DA:O. I've named some of my saves very strange things and its amazing! Although since all their games these days are simultaneously released on console it seems unlikely

Yes, GREAT IDEA - THANKS!
DAI was horrible because I had THOUSANDS of savegames and I could NOT name them. I want to name my savegames. I make so many ........

Yes, agreed!
Also, the save game name displayed in the list does not have to be the file name - the file name could be a truncated version of the save game name. This means that there is NO REASON to limit the length of what you can name your save as.
So if I want to name my save:
"The save I made right before taking a break to make some coffee, while scratching my ass, and oh, I do feel a bit peckish right now, might have to get some food too, maybe make an omlet, but wait! I've run out of eggs. So maybe I'll just go to the store.... Why am I writing my thoughts down in the save game name space? Oh well - doesn't matter, as there's no limit to how long this can be."
.... I should be able to.
In the previous games where you could give the save game a name, the names I came up with seemed to CONSISTENTLY be one character too long.

THIS should be BASIC in every game with savegames. I can't even understand that there are still games who don't do this. ![]()

Bethesda allowed you to name your saves in Morrowind, but they then discontinued the practice in every single game since.

I had a few hundert in every DA games ....
And that 50 includes autosaves.
Every console game has some limit: Mass Effects allowed 10 characters, 32 saves per character, Witcher 3 allows eight saves. Best of all was Dragon's Dogma: one save (with autosave using that same slot).

All of that solved if I could write Silcron1 and Silcron2 or Silcron, Silcron+.
(I'm assuming people have mentioned all the other problems already, haven't read the thread, sorry. Just wanted to point this out.)

I used the first name to put a description for the type of play through. But I agree, it would be nice to be able to name each save.

Yes! This was an option in DA:O. I don't know why it was dropped.
