Are we talking in terms of practical use or in terms of looks? I'm going to assume looks, as Longbow of the Griffon is far from the best bow in the game.

Hossberg Twainer! 

 

I have to add: This was the first weapon I ever started farming the best possible materials for and I still use it from time to time for my 2-handed guy allthough the Chromatic Greatsword is my end game weapon for him now. But nothing will ever top the moment when I crafted a Hossberg Twainer only with Dragon Bone. Sweet memories.

The weapons designs in DAI are pretty awesome overall (too bad the same can't be said for the armor).

On current Reaver Inquisitor - 

 

Crafted Masterwork Serrated Greatsword with defense slots loaded if I'm tanking

 

Hakkon's Valor if Cassandra or Blackwall is in group and I'm off-tanking.

 

For looks - none.  They're all cartoonish puffy swords with ridiculous grips.  Who do I have to kill for an elegant looking zweihänder?

I wish there were some normal looking weapons in inquisition that didnt suck donkey poo. Like the inquisition sword cassandra starts with... Totally awesome. But it sucks

My dwarven inquisitor rogue's favourite dagger was one made from a schematic acquired in the Descent DLC.

The more common version is called a Silencer (below), but mine was a bronze-coloured masterwork that I named the "Dagger of the Deep".

It's actually awful.

It's neato I suppose but unless your fighting a dragon only one shot is going to hit anyway. Best bow in the game is beresad and MWB Longbow grip, unless tresspasser changed that.
Griffon is one of those that sounds amazing but actually is trash.

My favourite weapon is whatever schematic I can use to get the crit % rate as high as possible. Don't care what it looks like

Functionality-wise, the Longbow of the Griffon, which is my Inquisitor's main weapon. The shotgun function must make it into DA4, please (DAMP's version of the Hakkon ice bow also has it).

 

Actually, however, my favourite bow design is the Elite Sniper Longbow, a very briefly useful, Item Level 16 Rare in DAI. The design used to be Hawke's weapon of choice as the Longbow of the Avvar (which thankfully scaled as a DLC item):

 

 

I like how it is plain & functional, yet still distinct & remarkable. Also for every true Fereldian patriot, he-ho!

The trial rewards introduced some great weapons. The Dancer's Axe finally made me start taking Bull and Blackwall instead of Cassandra. Elgar'nan Enaste is a great bow to go hunting bears with. Heart of Despair's permafrost pairs up nicely with that 1000% damage upgrade to Winter's Grasp.

I really don't see the appeal of LB of the griffon. You're not really going to hit any of the extra ones in most fights. >.<

In terms of functionality encore, chromatic gs / axe, silencer, berastaad schematics.

In terms of looks for staves deathward, stormbreak, and even the at first ugly duckling hakkon energy staff. Honorable mention if I wanted my quisi staff to look a certain way would be heart of pride.

the elite sniper bow looks nice I second that.

Dagger is blade of red birth matched with something thin and elegant in the off hand for contrast. (bosun blade?)

The big weapons I find really cheesy. Only sundering looks actually nice to me with the right grip and pommel. Caliban and greatest hits are nice classy one handers.
