I'm kinda curious how long will it take before someone creates 'What can Bioware learn from Solitaire' thread.

It's a game you can lose easily. So there's that. ;)

Sooooooo no good then? It honestly doesn't look great but then we have been starved for a good D&D game for so long.

I don't know much about it either but from the steam reviews it doesn't seem to have much in common with dnd at all. Maybe more DA2. Action rpg is mentioned a lot even in positive reviews.

I don't mind Gwent in Witcher 3 and Pazack I think it is, was kind of cool in KOTOR, so how to make mini-card games?

I wouldn't mind seeing those type of things in MEA.

Oh would you? I was just about to do it myself but if you want to do it yourself it would be much appreciated.

And no "What can Bioware learn from Tides of Numenera" thread yet? I am a little disappointed!  ;)

They can learn not to make wild claims they never intended on keeping, rather than using such claims to draw in hardcore fans and make money off them thats for starters.

Well, given that SCL is a variant of the NWN theme, only it has a lot simpler DM tools and they suffer because of it.

I think this is more apt, since (like I found out above) Brent Knowles had something to do with Sword Coast. He designed that basic tactical and party based feel of BG2/Kotor/DAO. DA2 retained some of it, but he left because he thought they were making it too action based. And they did, even further with DAI.

I don't know what they could learn from Fallout 4, other than giving Courtenay Taylor a starring role if they were privileged to get her again. :D

That's not true. It's not clear why he left apart from his views being different on the direction of the series, but he never clearly said what it was about the direction he opposed. The general tenor of his comments actually suggests it was among other things VO and not gameplay (which makes sense, because ultimately DA2 was identical to DAO under the hood apart from a worse camera angle, and mechanically was a superior system apart from the bizarre inventory decisions).
