So of course most people will gravitate to ease of use. The M-11 Wraith provides that ease of use. Its light weight and its very forgiving with its 2 shots.

The claymore is more of a skilled based weapon. Everyone knows this that's why those who hate it just can't aim. Its the plain truth.

Skill has always been a minority's game anyway and I'm proud to say that I'm one of the few who can actually wield the claymore effectively.

It sounds like you all need to see the light of the AT-12.

Trolling or not, I would say I'm not a particularly skillful player, just a very experienced one.  I don't prefer the Claymore to the Wraith because it requires more skill to use, I prefer it because of the way it makes Phantoms' heads explode.  And the way it sounds. I like the Wraith, occasionally, but the Claymore is the most satisfying gun I've ever used in a game. Unless I need an anti-gravity gun and some circular saw blades for a trip to Ravenholm.

I don't think so. I'm in the Wraith clan, but I'm fairly certain I manage to use the Claymore. I actually like this gun too, but I also like having fun of people who dedicate a cult to it (big boom and big damage per shot, looking badass because you don't care about cooldowns, etc., I get it) while, objectively, it's not even in the top 3 weapons in the game.

Yup. Claymore is not any more/less difficult to use than the most other shotguns.

That said, lolclaymore.

You have a point. It requires hitting what you're aiming at and gaming the mechanics for reload cancelling. The Wraith is an easier gun to use for a scrub like me.

Its among the top 3 most hated and most difficult to wield. I like that description better

Lets nerf the Wraith and see what we get:

- Decrease clip size

- Decrease accuracy

- Increase weight

- Increase reload time

Look what we have here, a Claymore.

well given the time between the 2 wraith shots, i m not sure it s far more forgiving than the claymore.

On an adept, it is, but because the light weight allow you to use your powers

The fire delay isn't really "forgiving" with the Wraith. Nor is the reload delay unless you do something actively about it. But I don't really care, most shotguns are good choice.

Ofc I will. I need my no aim crutch. I am in the skilled minority that uses skill and headknowledge to rock the venom.

Much better.

This. I don't find Wraith significantly easier to use. Dat delay. :S

Plus in most situations claymore kills a gold mook with a body shot.

The point is that objectivity cannot exist in a debate which is entirely subjective in nature - there is no right or wrong, and no top 3, there are only personal preferences.  The numbers might be factual on paper, but you can't include the sound of the weapon in any objective debate, and so supposedly objective statements are rendered moot by the crunch of the High Lord, and the cackle of laughter which often follows it, from either me or my KroSent or QFE.  Have I ever laughed while using a Wraith? I don't remember any occasions at all. Ever.

In all seriousness, I'm not in either 'clan', and simply prefer the aesthetics of the Claymore, but I've used the Crusader more than it, and the Venom considerably less.  The Venom might be considered one of a supposed objective top 3 because of the ungodly damage and stagger it puts out, but requires very little skill and provides me with minimal enjoyment by comparison with maybe 6 other Shotguns. If I want to subject myself to a charge-up weapon which needs to be fired at feet, I need a much lighter one and a Justicar to make it fun.

As someone who has finally started using the Claymore (thanks to watching TMB903 use it on GI and DrellGod with epic efficiency), I will say that it is a very satisfying gun to use. I'm more effective with the Wraith or Venom, because I cannot get consistent headshots with Claymore. But, when I do, it is awesome to say the least. Again, as Grunt said, there is no right or wrong answer as to which is best, just personal preference. I like all three shotties about equally, just depends on the characters. The QFE with Claymore is probably the funnest build I have been running lately. It is not my best build, but it gets the job done and her running around with that big thing in her hand is fun.

Meh.

A double-tap with a Raider point blank is far more rewarding, although a head shot across the map using a Claymore is quite amusing...

I'll stick with the chaotic play style that needs the Raider.

The Raider and Graal come in very close to other three for me. The Raider on the BatSol is great, among many other builds.

Wrong. On Gold the Wraith requires more skill, since you can take out Gold enemies with Claymore by simple blowing off any mook toe of your choice or beer in your system's choice. Meanwhile Wraith requires precision headshots with most pellets hitting the mark for a clean kill on Gold.

On Platinum it's a different story. One Claymore to rule them all.

Lol wat? Its a shotgun that deals massive damage- you need only get your aiming reticle somewhere in the general vicinity of an enemy to do 500,000 damage (or so).

But yeah you're right... such expert, so skill, much wow.

Thread is due for a claim that you can fire the Claymore faster than the Wraith with reload canceling.
