My ID is czeuch. I'll check the Alliance Hazard Force group, thanks.

They'll all just want to drag you through Platinum for creds, then drop you in the deep pool all alone :(

WTF? I didn't get that. what advantage would they have to drag people to plat? And what's dropping people in deep pool? I feel so noob hahaha

Good thing I use to catch up fast lol

If you Google Deathmatch tips and tricks, being Deathmatch a common mode in MP, you'll find out that the first entry is mine, so I end up learning and later on, passing on knowledge.

They drag you to plat because the credits are better, it's where they play, and they think you will learn quicker.

But truth is, you wont learn, you need to make mistakes to learn, and hard to make mistakes when everything is dead before it gets to you.

^Lol I don't think that's true. A brand new manifest should start in Bronze, at least until you learn the map layouts

Ok, now I understand your reference to dead pool :P

Yes, I feel quite useless when that happens in other co-op games.

That may be true but is it better than the Cabal Vanguard??

Teleport dodges like on the Cabal (as well as the N7 Fury, N7 Slayer, and probably some others I'm forgetting) are awesome and let you do tricks like teleport through walls.

I wouldn't say they are 'better' so much as 'different' from the human's combat roll / dodge.

Also: the teleport dodges are extremely lag sensitive -- even the tiniest amount will hose your timing -- while the combat roll is more forgiving.

and can't control your teammates makes it significantly harder.

You could always try getting on a mic and try telling them what to do :P

With some teammates it's like herding cats.

Especially if they are playing Krogan and insist on headbutting you when your doing a device hack instead of guarding you.

So teleporting through walls is not intended? It's like a glitch?

I have a mic :)

But it'll be a while before I tell people what to do. Easier the opposite haha

Hi! I intend to start the MP quite soon (at most by the weekend), and I'm trying to get a Platinum. I need 100 Overloads.

For that, I'll need to start as an Engineer, which I didn't want to.

The Human Engineer seems weak to me. In any case, before I ask my question, I'll post a quick background:

- Played the first 3 games on the following difficulties: Normal (Soldier), Veteran (Infiltrator) and Insanity (Infiltrator)

- Finishing the trilogy again as a Vanguard: Hardcore (Insanity wasn't unlocked), Insanity, Insanity

In all games, I always had a bit of trouble at first, but starting mid game, things got much better and in the late game I was (am, in case of ME3 which I haven't finished yet) able to obliterate enemies, dying only occasionally.

So, playing Bronze matches with an Engineer, should it take too much time to reach lvl 20 and will I have the opportunity to Overload 100 shields in that timeframe?

It takes awhile to get to level 20, but if you're on Gold and Platinum, it would take just a few matches, but I'm not promising that you will not get kicked for being a low level CP and having a low Lol7 rating. Play on Silver if you want to level up much faster. You get paid better and you get more XP. LolBronze is if you are really screwing up on Silver.

The Human Engineer(Vanilla) is probably one of the best characters out there. Yes, you do need a good enough weapon to compensate for the low DPS of their powers in general, because Overload, Incinerate, and Combat Drone, aren't really that great overall and need other things to make them even more useful and better. I find Heavy Pistols and Shotguns to be the best for the Engineers, in general. My build... 6/6/6/5/3

Low fitness build, rare weapon with rare mod and a Cyclonic IV.... Yeah, might as well suggest a Harrier X. The guy is talking about JUST STARTING MP, and you suggest a build like that. Great way to encourage them to try.

Ah come on Fire, admit it - there's nothing like a bit of special Krogan attention! RARRRRR!!!!!

OP, the characters JRandall mentioned are designed that way, so teleporting isn't a glitch - it's just that their teleporting is, as he said, extremely lag-dependent so you're better hosting with them if you don't want to lose your bearings.

I would also heed the cautious advice about playing Plat before you're 'ready', and by 'ready' I mean if you actually find it enjoyable, which a select few of us on here generally don't unless we're choosing our teammates carefully. Yes, the credits are great, but most people waste them by buying too few of the cheaper packs which are better for run-of-the-mill consumables and mods.  99K packs should be bought very sparingly early on - something of a treat after a few good games until you've maxed your Common and Uncommon weapons and mods.

Always, ALWAYS max common weapons ASAP. Recruit packs are cheap, can even buy after a failure, and at level X, common weapons are not bad, good enough for bronze, serviceable on Silver, and Mantis is even usable on Gold on an Infiltrator. I personally find most of the uncommons underwhelming though, but getting a level X Mattock or Phalanx, and Tempest is a good goal to prioritize before buying any 99k packs.

This is just my opinion though. I'm one of those weird people that like the Avenger though.

lol at that!

I'll probably get there, maybe even faster than I think given the fact that I'm quite addicted to ME right now. But it won't be this week I guess.

Great build, heartily endorsed, but I fear you've forgotten what an empty manifest actually feels like! I disagree slightly about weapons though - there isn't a weapon in the game that the HE can't use to extremely good effect on Silver (where the OP may be for a while, literally learning to play), and the majority of them work nicely on Gold too, if a little less so on Plat.

Don't forget the Locust.  My alt a/c HEs and TSents have trolled more Gold matches with a Locust than I can remember. The Avenger is deadly..... on full auto.... on a TSol at least! Totally Gold-worthy.

OP, I have already added you to the AHF chat, don't be afraid to log in, we are always happy to give new players tips on builds, and for everything else there is the Resource Library (good thing you already checked it out). And it's true that we play only plat and gold (sometimes we play bronze but don't tell anyone).

Now, I think Arkhne is right.

They drag you to plat because the credits are better, it's where they play, and they think you will learn quicker.

But truth is, you wont learn, you need to make mistakes to learn, and hard to make mistakes when everything is dead before it gets to you.

I really don't know whether you'd learn anything from playing Plat with us from the get-go. I was "dragged" into plat while I was a regular Gold player and my learning process got sped up greatly, but you are just starting MP so I have no idea what would happen in your case.

For the best gaming experience, I suggest you play some pugs and get familiar with the game. I'll gladly play on the lower difficulties with you. I'm a huge scrub anyway. If you are ever in desperate need of credits, feel free to join us for a couple of Plat games  :)

Yep.I also moved from invaderone to bwnci after a while. i Like the dramatic music and intro graphics design drama in invader1 , but bwnci felt more like real steel - in your face and to the point+ spend more time on explaining pros and cons on loadout. Inv1 videos somehow let it look too simple- mb in 5 years I'll b far enough to appreciate it fully...

HE is the first MP kit I ever played and it's still one of my favorites. Such a beast. Learn to live without or with low fitness and get good at moving and dodging and you'll be fine. Any gun works with him/her. Tech explosions for days, chain overload for teh stunz, a pet drone...what else do you need?

Did you notice that Bwnci is refreshing his content?  I believe he's re-doing each character...starting with the vanilla humans.

He's now part of the Union for Gamers, and he has to get rid of the music that he didn't have rights to use.
