The space bar is not allowing me to pick up the pistol in the very beginning of the game. I can sprint accross the room, and other keyboard commands are working. I also used both an imported character and a brand new character in case the import was causing it, but both have the same problem.

Low framerates cause gameplay issues. You probably don't meet the system requirements but we can't know for sure unless you post your specs.

We have had a couple of new noobs with low end too-slow graphics, and one of them managed to locate an ancient thread without the normal answer, so I poked around, using the criteria from that noob's own subject line, and ended up finding a half dozen old threads (and the Search prefers the oldest, of course) that never had answers, including this long dead and buried one.Fredvdp wrote...
