So I have the GoT year edition and my friend has the basic game with no DLC on the PS4. When we try to play online we get an error message about having the same DLC. We seriously can't play online together unless we have the same edition?

Both of you need to make sure you have all the free multiplayer dlc's downloaded. I don't know if they came in the GOTY edition, or if that only included single player dlc.
