I think they adjusted it as much as they could to fit with MP.

Before it would have fit less. But it was also better for single player. DAI's combat is much more simplfied now.. and the whole tactical angle barely has relevance in the main game.

I only think it's not the success ME was is because it doesn't have the crowd that was ripe for it. ME at least had it's share of shooter veterans. I don't know wtf they were thinking trying to replicate that for RPG fans..

I could have enjoyed it a little more if they didn't also add the obstacle of RNG stats on RNG weapons while having stats that they never really explained what they did unless you went to the internet to research it.  Outside of weapons the other problem was the boss stage for those enemies felt like they were designed to make you fail unless you were overgeared.

dynamic enemy wave (fixed strength): now we are limited to 8 enemies, I assume that the new frostbite can handle more.

so, given the max amount of "strength" of a wave fixed (per difficulty) the enemy number compensate based on boss/grunt units

in other words:

if you have 2 boss, 2 sub boss, then you need 8 minions to complete the current "strength"

if you have only 1 boss and no sub you might need 16 minions for the strength budget

if you have 4 boss and 4 sub, no minions...

so the actual number of enemy in the wave is not cap at 8 and you can be rushed by 20 husks or 4 banshee but not at the same time...

Sounds good to me. Not knowing in advance what will spawn (and where) should spice things up a bit :).

I´d also like to see improved AI tactics when going to higher difficulties - instead of just higher HP/damage values or more boss units. Probably easier said than done and hard to balance. Hacks or devices being rushed by coordinating IQ-buffed phantom/good squads may just as well turn out to be super annoying .

Why do people keep bringing up the DAI MP, like it has any relevance? DAI only had MP because it was so successful for ME3, but the games are completely different so their MP modes are inherently very different.

They are different, yes but it's the latest MP from BW, so it is relevant and DAMP was not all bad, it was buggy but far from bad, I spent a lot of hours on it and there are a few things they could take from there for MEAMP.

They're MP modes made by different teams for different genres. Mass Effect is a shooter and Dragon Age is a "tactical" hack & slash. Comparing the two and acting like MEA MP will be more like DAI MP than ME3 MP is dumb. Oh, BioWare made them both? Well they also made Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age 2 but I didn't anyone worrying about MEA becoming a medieval fantasy game.

The inclusion of Vorcha and their flamethrower in ME3 made me a very happy camper, and contributed to my preferring MP over SP, where it was more innovative and experimental than the latter.God willing, they'll be in this as well.

Funny thing was, is that the Vorcha(and Batarians) played a bigger role in the MP than in the actual story. O5AQUoa.gif

You make me facepalm.... Yes, they are made by different teams but things from ME3MP went into DAMP, promotions which they improved, the rng item shop, DAMP is really just ME3MP with a few difference, appart from the different fighting style because it's a different game a lot is similar, anyway, keep being mad, we will see soon enough !

Edit: I also found this nice little quote that should make you stop spewing garbage: "To create the multiplayer game for Inquisition, a dedicated team comprised of developers from both the Dragon Age and Mass Effect franchises was formed. The development time has been over two years."

In case you can't read between the lines, having people coming from both game to develop the MP means they will learn from the good and bad of both and add what was good from one to the other, you can say DAMP is not relevant if you wish but it clearly is,  oh and by the way, they already talked about multiplayer missions that are not horde mode, which means DAMP might have influenced that.... But you know of course you will tell me I'm wrong but that's your opinion.

I know what you need, Vorcha. You need a snappy freeze to cool off or else you'll burn all your fuel before release.

The current engine can easily handle more than 8 enemies, but it was set as a cap as the PS3 and Xbox 360 can't handle more than that. The PS4 and Xbox one should be able to handle more with no problem though.

if you are gonna have rng. reward those that play the most. not least.

more enemies, less lag/dc's, more enemies/maps.

It's RNG, everyone is rewarded just as much by time spent playing... It really doesn't favor those that play the least, especially if you consider that in MEMP once you had all lower quality guns maxed out you had better chance of getting other things.

This is madness! What's next? more than one action button? The ability to jump? Text chat in lobby for PC players?!

knowing Biower they would just put it on the omnibutton that already revives, uses objects, goes into cover, vaults cover, dodges, and sprints

Well, first rule is to stay alive.

The second rule is to avoid playing as a lone wolf.

Third rule is avoid staying too long in any one place.... those computer opponents are sneaky and will flank you.

Fourth rule is take cover !!!

It's actually more like this once you get better:

1. Right-hand advantage

2. Reload-cancel

3. Arrive at spawns before your teammates

4. Kill everything

5. Get the biggest score

6. ??????

7. Profit!

For MEAMP I want interesting, beautiful maps, a much better store system than me3mp and damp and a ton of customization options. I mean more options to mod weapons, customize armor by combining different armor pieces, shield and armor mods, perks and so on. Definitely allow us to use any weapon on any class again, perhaps even remove the limit and let us pack as much firepower as we want with cooldown penalties for bigger loadouts like in SP. Replayability in me3 mainly came from trying out new interesting combinations after all.

I actually played a little DAMP this weekend, it's gotten a whole lot better since they added in dragons.

I would actually pay to see that.  Not much, just maybe $2-3, but it's there.
