looks like Trailer Krogan is a male upon closer inspection. Perhaps he's wearing an updated modern Krogan armor, which had many fans thinking it's a female Krogan

It could just straight up be a female Krogan. If they canonised the Genophage being cured then it's not like they need to protect the females desperately for the future of their species, and female Krogans were identical in 3 except the clothes they wore. They could just not look that different between sexes, like dogs and cats don't look different minus very minute features.
(though we could chalk it up to BioWare laziness)
However, the leak did mention a male Krogan whose name escapes me presently so it could just be him.
