There's no delay, it hits right away where you used to be aiming. On pc there's a quick patch to fix it.
Please tell me where I can find the patch, please, please, please

I read it's a 0.1 second delay. You can't call that a delay.

Crusader's* a good gun, with the patch applied. It's just not a shotgun.
*FTFY. It's cool, I confuse it with the Saber quite a bit as well, except it holds 4 shots instead of 14 and doesn't sound quite as good.
It also has the unfortunate downside that it eats shotgun amps, which are usually reserved for my Claymoar, Raider and Graal. Saber by contrast doesn't really compete with much else in the AR class and can use VI's at not much loss in effectiveness anyway.

Lol, there ya go, my thoughts about it explained in a lapsus. And in your post. I agree, yeah.

I'm not sure what the delay (or non-delay) is, but it's significant. I would guess it's more than 0.1 sec. Use the gun and then report back. You will miss a ton of shots that you ordinarily would have hit with another weapon, even against big targets like Brutes and Atlases. Good luck against stupid Husks and Aboms zig-zagging their way toward you. It takes practice to learn how to use the gun.

Well I still don't have the GFI but I have the Geth Jugg and the basic humans.
I'll try it on HS, HI and Geth Jugg.
I imagine it'd be sort of painful on the Jugg at level 1, just because most guns have severe spare ammo issues at level 1 and the Jugg is slow, so I'd bet that you'll spend half the match slowly making your way to the nearest ammo crate. And since you're new, you likely don't have a bunch of Adrenaline III's burning a hole in your pocket. A far better bet would be the HI- the prohibitive weight doesn't matter on an Infiltrator (Tactical Cloak has a 3 sec cooldown, regardless of your cooldown %, as long as you break cloak right away), you're a grenade kit so you'll be humping ammo boxes anyways, and with the TC damage boost the Crusaders going to do some pretty serious damage even at level 1.

Since good loadouts have already been suggested, I'll offer a few shooting tips instead.
First the Crusader's delay isn't really a delay between pulling the trigger and the shot connecting, it more of a, as Max put it, " gun that fires backwards in time." The Javelin has a delay b/w trigger pulled and shot fired so to compensate for it you have to keep the crosshair on the targets head throughout the firing sequence. Use the same method with a Crusader and you'll miss your shot. Instead you have to lead your target and fire slightly in front of the direction it was headed so that it "walks into your shot". If you've ever played a shooter without instant projectile travel, it's the same principle.
Stationary targets, targets in cover, targets coming straight at you or big hitbox bosses you can just blast away. Problems start happening when you're dealing with laterally moving/strafing mooks. Especially if you don't have any cover around you. Mooks have home in accuracy, players do not, especially players who are not used to the delay.
A good rule of thumb for hitting such targets in say the upper chest would be muzzle sweeping the target in the direction of their movement and firing once you reach their shoulder. At close-mid range your shot would hit them in the chest and at longer range it would hit them on the opposite shoulder. Either way you would have successfully delivered your payload of 700 something damage to the enemy. Headshots follow the same principle but harder to execute. Unless your target is stationary, in cover or otherwise, I would recommend sticking to body shots. At least until you get a better hang of the weapon.
Also I think it is overstated how bad the delay affects the weapon. Missing mooks, sure, I'll even give you banshees and primes, but brutes and atlases? Come on.

Yes, you're right. I was totally exaggerating. I never miss Brutes or Atlases with the Crusader. ![]()

However in combat he's a force to be reckoned.
As for the shotgun, that's not a delay! I liked that gun really much. Like you guys said it's a different kind of shotgun. You can close in close your eye and shoot like a wraith for instance.
You can shoot from afar, medium range. At close range you can melee
I can almost one shot enemies if I hit the body. Headshots are death. And it has 4 shots clip which is awesome. The fire rate is great but you need to adjust the aim after each shot due to strong recoil.
This shotgun is approved!

When soloing and doing the devices/hack/escort and sometimes pizza, you need to kite enemies away most of the time. Try not to kill anything unless absolutely necessary and remember there will always be 8 enemies on the map until you finish the objective and the credits pop up. After that whatever you kill doesn't respawn.Well took the jugg and the crusader on 2 bronze solos. Both are good but as I'm quite inexperienced I'm the MP I failed both times at wave 6. Hard to manage hacking or deactivating stuff and swarms of enemies. But I'll get there.

Remember when I said that I spent my first two weeks of MP playing the Crusader Jugg? Those were all bronze solos.
Trust me, don't do this. Get in a public match with other players. You won't hold them back with your scrubbiness, it's just bronze, that's what bronze is for; and you'll actually make it to extraction, which means more credits; and the matches will go much faster. Also, move up to silver soon. You'll adjust fairly quickly and learn faster in the process.
Glad you're enjoying the gun.

I just went bronze to test the stuff. When playing public matches I've been going silver. I can't see that much difference between them.
If you want to use the Crusader effectively, aiming is crucial, which is why you should try it on a vanilla Human Infiltrator. Cryo Blast is a seriously underrated power. It'll slow down and freeze targets very nicely for you. Don't go for the cryo explosion combo, because you likely won't get a use out of it. Take armor weakening and play Reapers. Proceed to freeze cannibals. 20 headshots on wave 1.

I basically do three shotguns.
I like the Crusader. Which is to say, I love the Crusader, and I hate the Crusader. It evens out to like, I think. It's an awesome scopeless sniper rifle. Except when it isn't. Then it sucks. But it'll happen, sometimes. Especially against Collectors.
I loves me some Graal and some GPS. In general, I do not care for shotguns, and avoid them, but the Graal and the GPS have found a home in my rotation because they are fun, well balanced, and probably mostly because they are (more or less) thumbstick friendly.

There was a time when I used pistols, snipers and smg regularly. Nowadays I mostly use the Carrier and shotguns, which means I never have Shotgun or AR amps, which means I burn through VI targeting like it's going out of style. Really, who needs pistols or smgs or whatever when a Raider X is a perfectly viable caster weapon. Raider is also the reason why I stopped playing pretty much any adepts except for the Drellgod.

QFT. Considering the shotgun category is the best in the game and perhaps the most fun to use, I'd wager that "too much shotgun" is blasphemy around these partsThis phrase doesn't make sense

I don't know what the underlined sentence means, but if you're saying you shouldn't take the "Cryo Explosion" evolution at R5 of Cryo Blast, you're completely wrong. Don't be fooled by the fact that it is called "Cryo Explosion" - it doesn't do anything to affect cryo explosions, it just gives Cryo Blast a 10% debuff.
