Mine just bumped up to a level 8 this weekend. Didn't use it much at all until it reached level 5-6 or so...I'm still kind of a Crusader newb.
I've been going through some shotties with my HMA, and I think this will be a good match for how I'm looking to use him:

I'd say that that gun is a bit to heavy for a power focused kit like that, even with ULM your re-charge speed is very slow, the Crusader is more of an Infiltrator or soldier gun for me.
The resulting CDs are actually nearly identical to those he can get carrying a High Lord with a power efficiency mod III. And that set up felt pretty nice. I figure as long as I can keep the CDs for all his powers close to 3 sec-ish, the BE cycles won't feel hindered.
And in the Crusader build's favor, I can take it to Plat if necessary since his armor slot is available for a CM IV...unlike with the High Lord build (PE III) or Piranha build (Stab Mod III). Plus it offers some range that a Raider can't match.
