I have completed the story up until the mission What Pride Had Wrought and I have not started it yet. I sided with the mages in the beginning and have gone as far as I can with Cullen's cutscenes at Skyhold. The last cut scene was us playing chess. Somehow, I can not get the Before the Dawn mission to appear on the war table. I've tried looking this up, but I haven't been able to find a sufficient answer to my problem. Did I miss something? Am I supposed to do something else first?

You have a cutscene with Cullen about it in Skyhold, then get sent to a couple of different zones before you get anything shown on the war table about it. Have you left skyhold and immediately returned to refresh the first cutscene when talking to npc thing if the quest is not shown under Inner Circle?

Did you collect the three smuggler letters from the Emerald Graves?

I've been to emeral graves but haven't seen anything about three smuggler letters and what other zones would I get sent to?

You need to speak with Cullen to receive the Before the Dawn quest to retrieve the smuggler letters.

Sorry should've clarified that. But he should've told you about Samson and the Red Templars already. He always tells me about them before I get the chess scene.
