I'd love to run around a single player campaign as a Fury, Paladin, or Slayer

I don't know if they'll name any classes after them, but I think the ME3 MP was definitely a playground to test out new ablity types. Undoubtedly some things learned about what is fun and what isn't will make it to Andromeda.

The idea of swords in this setting is simply not very appealing to me.
A combat knife for quick melee I understand, various omni-tool implements of death - fine, but a sword?
I guess that I can see a vanguard charging and impaling someone, but just about any other class will get more use from a gun.
That said, ME3's MP had some very nice classes with very interesting abilities, I wouldn't mind seeing some of these abilities becoming
available to the traditional classes.

I'd imagine that the SP classes wont be that based on the N7 kits specifically.
Although I wouldn't be surprised if they gave us abilities they created in the ME3 MP DLCs

Hell yeah. The N7 soldier especially. Adrenaline Rush was cool at times, but the whole power armor terminator thing was epic.
I'll pass on the blade dancer ninja BS, though.

That's what I think also. They mentioned how a new squadmate in our new game can create biotic spheres that you fire from. One of ME3 MP Asaris had this ability
Nope, the MP N7 classes were comic book level stuff, not something I want to see.
ME does have comic books

ME: A will be set in the future. It's not a stretch at all for N7's to be armed with a deadly biotic aura, omni powered shield, or palm laser.
I do agree that having a ninja sword would be corny and out of place given the deep space exploration theme.

The best part about the sword is that it would be an...................................... option. Yep, that's right folks! It's an optional weapon, meaning you don't have to use it, but it's there for those who would enjoy it.
Bah! Who needs more options anyway?

Options can harm the setting just by existing. Ninja swords cutting atlases down damages the setting. Teleportation just cause it's cool damages the setting.

I think it depends on the implementation. I'd be completely fine if they weren't as powerful as the guns with the benefit of no need for reloading. Would it be a weapon to head into a gun fight like Rambo and deflecting bullets like a Jedi, no. Absolutely not. But for surprise attacks from behind without alerting any one else, it'd be great. That and biotic powers would be cool as frak.
And now for the posts that explain why that's ridiculous. Aaaaand....go!

All the ridiculous things that happen in the ME and people are complaining about swords? Swords.

The sword thing came from Kail Lang, and Kai Lang stinks of anime BS, therefore I wouldn't be too sad to see the entire thing go.
Now, a Krogan warhammer on the other hand...

I'd rather they have options for making the standard classes take on things from the MP classes as part of the character customization. Like you could leave your infiltrator with the standard roadie run from GoW or give them the flippy rhythmic gymnast dodging of a Shadow.

The problem with Kai Leng was Kai Leng. He could've been a better villain and character but... BW kind of sucks at villains.

I've been a pretty strong advocate of them taking elements of ME3 multiplayer and incorporating them into the single player for MEA.
A lot of the Multiplayer classes - the N7's especially - really showed some creative ideas and interesting concepts, some exciting "this is the future" stuff. They really made the standard classes seem rather boring in comparison.
So, yeah. I'm absolutely in favor of them giving us a mono-molecular bladed sword, an omni-shield, power armor, and the ability to fire homing grenades from or omnitool. I'm in favor of them giving us a wrist-mounted omni-crossbow and biotic whips, ala the Talon Mercenary and the Project Pheonix classes.
I wouldn't necessarily do this to the exclusion of the standard classes and abilities, but I'd like to see them included to mix things up, so you can have even greater divergence between two characters of the same class.

It's not the existence of melee that bothers people. It's how it is inevitably always implemented where if you had a table in front piled with weapons and you could only pick one youd be better off taking the sword over the automatic rail gun.
In a automatic rail gun setting I don't want swords doing 1000 ponits if damage to the heavy pistols 100.
The powers people are talking about like shadow strike or heck just a sword mastered up n7 absolutely curb stomps rail gun damage outside maybe a few absurd guns. Shadow strike also adds teleportation into the game.
If it was just less damage no need to reload no one would have an issue.

Shadow strike also adds teleportation into the game.
Well, to be fair, biotic charge introduced that long beforehand.
Anyway, I wouldn't mind having something like the N7 Demolisher, only with bigger more ground-pounding grenades.

It feels like actual teleportation and not hurling your body at people at absurd speeds in a biotic bubble. While still kind of silly it at least feels somewhat lore friendly. Shadow strike doesn't. For me gameplay that doesn't fit or at least good enough for government work fit the lore diminishes the game play. It's just not as fun.Well, to be fair, biotic charge introduced that long beforehand.

Edit to add. Yeah not all the n7 classes would suck for me. The demolisher I'd be cool with. No huge issue with the smash adept. If they balanced snap cheese no huge issue with the paladin assuming they balance the shield part as well. It's not hugely far off from the geth portable wall shields so a omni shield is lore friendly.
