Are we going to get anything from N7 Day?

We were told that we'd get more information at the end of the year on Andromeda, which led many including myself to assume we'll get concrete info on N7 Day.

However, BioWare have said on their blog that they are going to use N7 Day as part of Extra Life to stream the Citadel DLC and do choices based on the chat's input. Whilst a neat idea - does this mean we're going to get nothing related to Andromeda this year? They could do a reveal at VGX or at the PlayStation Experience, but those are our only real chances, and whilst the VGX seems likely (due to their coverage of 2 and 3 in years past), the PlayStation Experience is less so.

This radio silence isn't boding well for the supposed Winter 2016 release date if we know absolutely nothing about it.

They don't have to give information out a year before release, I don't understand how it "doesn't bode well" when other developers such as Bethesda announce the game only a couple of months before release and people are still frothing at the mouth about its release and are not concerned about it.

Besides they have tried to give information out in advance in the past and there has been nothing but negativity towards them for ruining the game or people upset because it isn't 100% accurate to the final release.

Clearly they're withholding information to keep the comedy gold rolling in on the troll threads train.

Information is nice but it's not actually necessary for a game to release.

Hell, I wouldn't mind another "leak."  But I think we will get something. Not much though.

Ah... but that is a problem of Bio's own making.  The so called "information" is mostly marketing fluff designed to hype but at the same time to give nothing away.

For example: "This game is awesome."

Really? did the company define awesome? Awesome what? That it takes 2 minutes to load the game? In other words, the "marketing speech" is designed to pique interest and stimulate a gamers imagination about the game content and play mechanics, while revealing actually very little about the game. No wonder the "negativity"! once  gamers play the game.

For example: "This game has an awesome black colour!"

Really? is that like the shiny black paint on a car's hood colour? A black colour like the black bezel on your TV?  Perhaps it's true black. which IS awesome but not what you expected.

Here is true black btw = total absence of reflected light.

http://cdn0.omidoo.c...ntablack_01.jpg

All the foil is wrinkled with the centre of the foil coated with Vantablack a substance made with carbon nanotubes that absorb 99.945% light.  Imagine, then your car painted with a Vantablack coating.

Edit: Players wearing Vantablack coated armours would be really stealthy or look awful.

The reaction to Mass Effect 2's video release of the cinematic with Shepard's death reaction alone to me is problematic since people were up in arms about it "giving out too much information".

LOL!

Fortunately for me, spoilers don't bother me a bit and certainly cannot understand the sensitivity some have.

As to the info provided, it all boils down to a crap shoot. In my view, if you don't really like spoilers accidental or otherwise, "crawl back under a rock and come out when the game is released".... problem solved.

I just think BioWare is tired of having information they give out to us used as ammunition against them.  Heck look at the Gamescon release of Dragon Age: Inquisition video, it was a closed door preview of the game that was clearly labelled as "pre-alpha" and there were people upset that the game didn't have that content.  It was disappointing that those ideas didn't transfer to the final product, but the reaction to it not being there just seems to be pushing BioWare to give us less information.

No, they don't have to market their game, but it's good business sense to do so if you want people to buy your game on release day. Bethesda has the advantage of making games that:

1) Are easily and extensively moddable, greatly increasing replayability and available content.

2) Are Fallout games, which is a really old and deeply venerated game franchise with lore that is a thousand times deeper and better written than anything BioWare has ever written.

Besides they have tried to give information out in advance in the past and there has been nothing but negativity towards them for ruining the game or people upset because it isn't 100% accurate to the final release.

Yeah but maybe they shouldn't promise 16 different endings and then ship the game with one ending with three almost identifcal flavors all with the exact same bitter aftertaste.

There's a difference between having to cut some advertised features and another to sit in interviews and tell straight lies.

Bethesda has a reputation as well for shipping broken games that require mods so they work and then when they do fix them the patches corrupt saves, so no marketing can hurt them if that is what people are expecting as well.  Lets just agree to disagree about Bethesda for I don't consider their lore to be any deeper then a puddle.

Frankly that 16 endings is a perfect example of why they shouldn't say anything because I can see where they get that 16 ending number, even if the majority of people don't think there is enough differences in those ending to count as different endings. So instead of letting people's imagination running wild with the wrong information they don't have the information to have expectations beyond what is being delivered.

They're going to stream Citadel DLC? Seems like a waste of time. That was released well over a year ago, who hasn't played through it and seen it all by now? Even if you only did it once you could easily YouTube the variations.

I'm telling ya, we're gonna get a few write ups of the protagonist, the krogan, and the asari.  Because that stuff doesn't change.  Maybe show off some concept art, maybe tell us the name of the ship.  Beyond that, I'm really hoping that they will not release anything.

EDIT :  I mean, we are their number one fans.  But even number one fans don't get all the good stuff before everybody else does.

Heck,
We've been waiting years, yes years for Bethesda to just CONFIRM they were even working on a FO4.
They didn't mutter a peep, no leaks, no info, no marketing-nada.
Just an E3 announcement and release date.

I actually like this ^ method, in theory I didn't think I would, but in practice I don't have to wait years for a game's release, only months, much better.

So if BW releases info, great. If not, no worries, I've got other things to do.
Plus, MEA's release date is still a ways off.

That's always been Bethesda and a lot of devs. They announce only almost before release. I think Bioware's a little different there.

I would wish for a stand alone enhanced HD ME3MP with all the MP DLC ported to Xbox One & PS4.
