Full helmets and full armor are a must. Suspension of disbelief is a factor with sci-fi games. I can deal with anthropomorphized aliens and even elements that bend space/time but running out onto battlefield set in a vacuum in high heels, a skin tight cat suit and a breather mask is just stupid. I expect better from Bioware in Andromeda.

You forget bringing people from the died using SCIENCE!.
The whole thread make me think about the Quarian mission in ME2 : I choosed a Shepard with an open helmet but get my shepard with the closed one. Totally necessary to stop my stupid germs and don't genocidize the poor Quarian. Next to me was Miranda with her skinsuit but with a breather... Damn... They are doomed.
If Bioware want to make us explore fresh new planets they will probably be not eden-like. So, no, obligatory helmets because "security first!"
Imo it should depend on where they are and what they're doing rather than what class they are. If it's a matter of one or the other for any given squaddie's costume, then I'd just choose helmets at all times.
Helmets unless they are like Edi or Geth. And real armor.
I liked Jack's and Liara's outfits in ME2 and 3 on the ship or shopping. After my first run through ME2, I stopped taking anyone without armor with me if it looked like they shouldn't be there without armor. For me, ME1 was much better. Everyone wore helmets and armor.
Just had to quote this to state that I agree 100%. I couldn't agree more.
Casual outfits on the ship and on leave, armor in the field, no exceptions. No armor = no missions.
Helmets. I never liked the breather masks if you are in a hazardous environment your body needs to be completely protected.
Helmets of course.
The breathers and biotic barriers are stupid. One is insufficient. The other you have to make a constant effort to maintain at all times. Why the hell would you strain yourself like that when you can put on a helmet that does the work for you?
It has nothing to do with biotics. Ashley in ME3 wears a breather, while Kaidan wears a helmet. Maybe Bioware thinks females have the magical ability to survive exposed in vacuum? Either way, it's silly and they should stop using breathers. In ME1 everyone wore a helmet like they're supposed to.

Full helmets and armor in a vacuum or other hostile environments.. For cinematics they should do what Halo 3: ODST did and have visors that can go from opaque to transparent when we need to see the characters' faces.
Helmet and full body suit.
I'm OK with squadmates wearing whatever they want during off-duty. I'm sorta OK with iconic looks during regular combat even if it means stuff like Jack and Miranda (albeit I'd like to be able to change it).
But a silly breather mask in freaking vacuum? This just looks just stupid, I'm sorry. In hostile environments, I want my squad to equip proper gear during these times.

I remember her wearing a helmet.

Logic what logic I am god, now. ![]()

I remember her wearing a helmet.
She had two set of clothes. The second one, more casual and used while she is in the Normandy 2.0, has only a breather.
Bioware is talking about a system of an armor put on "casual" clothes for MEA. Catsuit lover, they are thinking about you!
(and just remember the sexy-looking female character they made for advertising MEA...)
The lack of armor was the main reason why Tali and Garrus were my only team during most of the main missions on ME2.
Breather masks are stupid, and no it wasn't just biotics who had them. Mordin, Kasumi, Zaeed and Ash (2 of her ME3 armors, though at least she does have a proper one with helmet) all used them as well, and Grunt had a full helmet but his arms were still completely exposed to vaccum, radiation and the elements.
The only ME2 squadmates who had proper gear for half the missions were Shep, Garrus, Tali and Legion (and the latter two don't really count).
Both

Breather mask? I hardly know 'er!
