I don't have the best skill when it comes to shooters which is why i loved how ME1 had assisted targeting which allowed you to just point and shoot without worrying about having perfect aim. Is there still some option like that in ME2 or did it get scrapped?
Is there a Targeting Assist in ME2?

No. But now you just hit what you aim at for the most part.
If you're not good at shooters, you're going to suck something fierce at this game.
My friend's having this problem. He did alright at the first game because of the auto aim, and when he raised his skills, he got that nice circle that all the bullets land in, making it easier for him to hit the enemy.
Now though... he can't hit the broad side of a barn. On Casual he's died countless times.

That sucks there's no assist at all, i wonder why they thought it was better to remove that feature.
I've played a few shooters like L4D on the 360 so i'm comfortable with the controls but i'm not good at getting headshots or stuff like that. Well atleast there's the cover system so i probebly won't have a problem with dieing a lot.

I thought I saw it in the options, but I also just finished playing ME 1 for the first time, so I might be thinking of that game instead. I'm on PC, btw.

There's targeting assist. If your crosshairs are close to someone, they'll lock on so you can have a more solid aim.
I wanted to turn it off, but you can't.

There is actually some aim assist. Don't know if it's the same thing... but when you bring up the scope of your sniper for example, it will aim on the nearest enemy. What sucks is when you have those little mech dogs and another humanoid like enemy near to it. It will ALWAYS lock on the dog no matter what, and you'll miss your shot on the humanoid mech and stuff.
I REALLY really hate it in this game.

Of course you can turn it off, it doesn't do what KEURQUE said on mine. Again, I'm on pc, and nobody mentioned what they're on.
