So we've established that the Claymore, the Predator and the Acolyte aren't for scrubs, but what is the easiest weapon to use ? Harrier ?

Cheesgar and Venom are in the top 2.

this.

If you could carry both, you would trivialize every single unit in the game from vritually anywhere on the map with any build.

Now I expect that your next platinum solo will feature this setup... and still be sub-40.

Cheesgar and Venom are in the top 2.

Agreed for Venom, but Reegar on big maps with squishy kits requires some skills.

Yup, I think you're right, the Harrier is probably the answer (honorable mention to the Talon)

Harrier... by far..easiest weapon in the arsenal.

put it on anything and get a stupid high score really fast.

Plus, it is my favorite gun in the entire game.

Stay in (soft-)cover next to ammo box, wait for stuff to close in and melt it down; repeat as necessary until wave is over?

This.

I'll add the AIU, TGI and Harrier (as mentioned).

I would say though after quite a lof of soloing experience that the Venom is pretty far from optimal and easy mode for everything, I would never take the Venom to a Condor platinum solo myself as the terrain there isen't exactly ideal for it, a map like White or Glacier is far better as most of it is flat (try shooting mooks on the many ramps and uneven terrain on Condor, can be a bit frustrating as it will miss a lot).

The Reegar, powerful as it is is optimal and OP on some kits yes, but as Loufi Points out not the best gun on a squishy kit on many maps.

It's easy to trash talk and claim that certain guns are OP and only for n00bs and scrubs etc etc, but once you put it to the test in a platinum solo will see for yourself that there is a lot more to it than just taking the most OP gun in the game and have an easy time.

Yes, with a but.

Neither are particularly good at long/extreme range. Not that it would matter though. =/

In my opinion...this is from an xbox perspective..the reegar is amazing versus shields/barriers...it takes quite awhile to chew thru armor...I have seen alot of the PC community say how OP it is there..what is the main difference between console reegar and PC reegar?

I actually really don't like the reegar either way because of it's range limitation.

has to be the Reegar from what I see in pugs, but they all finish in last place

All AoE weapons are pretty easy to use. Although stuff like falcon, krysae aren't the most effective on their own.

Reegar definitely deserves a mention as well.

Nightman, it's a question of frame rate, due to poor programing the Reegar will do more damage with higher frame rate, but the game itself is harder then as the enemy AI will hit you a lot more frequently compared to the console 30 FPS.

So one might argue that guns like the Reegar is much better at higher FPS, but the game becomes increasingly difficult the higher the FPS you go. And it's just one gun, can't even imagine what it's like soloing platinum with the Predator at 120 FPS.

Requires some patience, then, and some maps don't have great RHA spots. Would you take a Reegar for a London / Geth plat game with, let's say, the human adept ? It would severely suck. Seriously I think that a gun that isn't limited by range is easier to use.

Really ? I don't see the Reegar so much in my PUGs.

Should a scrub weapon be an UR? If so, that means you would actually have to play a lot (ie. earn a lot of credits) before it becomes viable. You might actually improve your skills and dismiss some of that scrubby behavior  .

The non-skilled majority does not solo platinum...

the Locust lol. I only carry it when I use a more melee based character like N7 Slayer or sometimes the Shadow...only because of the weight capacity thingy/power recharge speed.

Which gun would you take for a London/Geth/Plat with HA?
