All great picks. Antje Traue gets my vote for Cassandra.
Edited to change my mind about liking Bryce Howard as Leliana. Vertigomez's Leliana is better imo.

There are some really choice picks! Imogen Poots knocks Katee Sackhoff's socks off as Sera - it was the bangs photo that did it for me. And I love, love, love Bill Nighy for Corypheus, Caleb Landry for Cole and Rupert Pendry-Jones for Cullen! Also, Francis Magee for Blackwall is pretty good. I'd initially thought perhaps bearded Ian McShane, but Francis is perfect.
Meanwhile, nominating Mark Strong for Samson:

P.S. elxaime, your Inquisitor really does resemble Ellen! Well done!
I have a hard time imagining anyone other than the voice actors playing these parts. The voices are much more important than the character models for me 'cause I'm weird. I guess I'd rather be blind than deaf.
That said, Robert Webb always reminded me of Alistair. He and Steve Valentine sound similar enough, and Webb looks a bit more like Alistair than Valentine does.
Here he is reading a lovely poem by his wife instead of his usual comedy antics because poetry is important y'all...and most of the comedy clips aren't appropriate for this site. ![]()
Tom Mison is Anders! Nice one, LadyMcDeath!
My morning nomination is Vanessa Paradis for Calpernia

Ardent Blossom, my husband said the same thing - it would be all wrong if the screen actors didn't sound like the voice actors we've come to know and love. I agree. As you've done, it's sometimes fun to pick people who look more like our characters though they couldn't hold a candle to the sound. In tribute to the wonderful voice actors, I'm going to pull a switch up and nominate...
Indira Varma (voice actor for Vivienne in DA:I) as Josephine:

@LadyMacDeath, Don't you dare make me like Anders! lol! Awesome pick!
@Lindraen, OMG! Perfect Calpernia! And I had no Idea Indira was Vivi! If I didn't already have enough reasons to like Viv.
But my pick for Josie would probably be.
Freida Pinto

After an exhaustive talent search, made challenging by the need to capture the innocent yet exotic look of Josephine as well as the Antivan accent (which, to my ear, sounds a bit like Castilian), I'm happy to cast Penelope Cruz for Josephine.

This screen test clinched it for Penelope. Just listen to her voice:
This one was a surprise for me. Casting for the elven body type alone is a challenge, but Fiona also needed an Orlesian accent. After looking at page after page of head shots of French actresses, I was shocked to see Eva Green's name! She has a British accent in every movie and TV show I've ever seen, but apparently she's French and can speak French fluently. Can she speak the Common Tongue with an Orlesian accent, though? You be the judge..jpg)
Hazegurl and PapaCharlie, ya'll are gifted. Though I'd like to argue Indira Varma's Spanish(Dornish) accent from Game of Thrones (she did a great job!), I think she does lack the Disneyesque innocence of Freida Pinto and Penelope Cruz. Frieda may have the edge on the innocent look. Penelope Cruz has Josephine's nose!
Eva Green for Fiona is generous, I think, but perhaps with adorable Eva, people have regard Fiona more kindly. And it would make the idea that Maric couldn't keep his hands off of her common sense. ![]()
Nomination for today - Wes Bentley as Livius Erimond

Same here. Alistair without Steve Valentines voice? Or Morrigan without Claudia Black? Cassandra without Miranda Raison? Nope, nope, nope. Without the voice they just aren't them.
On the other hand....Chris Pratt as Alistair?....That has....potential.

I'm sure there would be room in the movie for the Chris Trifecta.

Pratt, Hemsworth, Evans?
I'm a little embarrassed now but I was going to put up Chris Hemsworth for Cullen at the beginning. Others have made some good choices there, so I'll let that one go. :S
Also, the day has been spent thinking about one character and I'm stumped.
Lace Harding? Anyone?

Peter Dinklage in drag? ![]()
You're getting stuck on the dwarven body type. Just keep in mind that that didn't stop Peter Jackson from casting John Rhys-Davies (6'1") and Richard Armitage (6'2") as dwarves.
That frees you to cast someone like, I dunno, Amy Schumer for Scout Harding?

I'm inclined to agree... to an extent. While the voices do make up a huge part of the character, some characters would obviously have to be recast if a film were ever to be made. Like Vivienne, for instance. But hey -- it would be an absolute win-win if we got someone wonderful to play Viv and Indira Varma got cast in another role in this hypothetical film.
Indira Varma as the Inquisitor, anyone?
I secretly want to see Dorian's VA (Ramon Tikaram) bring Dorian to life on-screen -- though one might argue that Tikaram may appear too old for the character. But that aside, he can definitely play Dorian. If not Tikaram, then I'd definitely love to see another POC fill his role. In Dorian's and Vivienne's particular cases, staying true to the character models is just as important as the preserving the character's voice for me -- if not more.
Also, Claudia Black as Morrigan is perfection. No changes needed there. None.
... nor to over-the-top costuming ...
Relevant as Cory wears heels and striped stockings.
