that rumour about not taking the pots in treasure rooms for better loot is funny and wrong

 

That's the point, is it not?  I remember when it was going around at the beginning of the year, and how even though it was obviously not true, people still tested it out.  There was a thread here dedicated to it.  It was one of the most popular rumor threads I can remember.

 

 

some of t he rumours were created by people that have no concept of farming I think, a threatening match get between 800 and 1300 gold (depends on chest rewards and how much gold is in each pot) a perilous game gets between 1000 and 1400 gold per match (again depends on the amount in each and the chest rewards) perilous takes an average of 15 minutes per match,  threatening takes an average of 10 minutes, it takes 9 threatening matchs to promote a char, it takes 6 perilous matches to promote a char (1>20>1)  if you manage to complete it and do all the doors in every match, 9 x 10 = 90 minutes or an hour and a half, 6x15=90min, so unless you have high promotes (over 150/150/150) there's no benefit to doing peri over threatening because your matches fail way to often /

 

How did you come to the conclusion that people need 150 stats across the board to reliably complete Perilous?  At that point you should be able to solo Perilous at level one in 15 minutes or less.  Are there actually people who have more than 75 in each stat and still play Threatening?

well either they have massive stats or they are using cheat engine to generate the numbers they do while cake walking through the round,

 

sometimes I play threatening when I cant be bothered to solo yet another sodding qunari match, actually out of the last 100 games 65 of them have been qunari, less than 5 demons, maybe 5 rt's 10 vents and the remainder darkspawn, and to make it worse the majority of pug games I play there is at least one person in starting armour that fades out before were halfway through round 1, then often another one with low promotes goes into the fade soon after, and were lucky to finish round 4 never mind finish the game.....

 

sure when I play with friends we can take turns poping lvl 1's and generally finish in under 15 minutes without much problems but my average timeings were for pug games and for peri if i'm honest its more often a 25 minute + struggle to finish (because you have to spend so much time running around trying to stay alive )

 

and yes I have solo'd peri on level 1's but only a couple of them and I cant do it against ds or qun due to the damage not tracking properly...

Rumors in pugs have surrounded the AW for months regarding how he is able kick down warrior doors, after all his name is the arcane warrior, right?

 

My AW has been a victim of F4 spamming thanks to that rumor. Once I even got one skull that I think was related to not opening warrior doors with him... Sadly, I'm not the only one.

To stay on topic of this thread, I heard a rumor that for Halloween, if you let the guy you escort dies, he will turn into a zombie.  And if you kill him, elemental mines will pop out non-stop like candies.

You're underestimating promotions/gear a lot.

It's easy to clear a match on Perilous in 10-12 minutes with 4x level 1 at 75/75/75. And I'm being generous...

My advice would be to play whatever difficulty where your clearing time is giving you an advantage XP and Gold wise.

 

Having been at those stats only recently, I can vouch for the veracity of this statement. My friends and I (all around the same stats at that time) would regularly run 4x level 1s in Perilous without problems. Granted, new factions have made that somewhat more difficult (DS, Qunari), but keep in mind there is some degree of enemy strength scaling even within a given difficulty setting tied to player level IIRC.

I heard they were making every round a last stand against the skeletal hoard affair, similar to the abomination hoard mode they used in me3mp, with every boss mob being an arcane horror all with their heads re-skinned to jack-o-lanterns......
