So I played DAI to near completion ages ago and have decided to get back into it. My save is too far in to jump in there so I'm going to restart. I've read about the golden nug and bring over schematics etc. but I know I won't get it since you need to complete the game to unlock it. So my question is; Can I DL someone elses save and restart that way with all unlocks? or is there some Origin thing that will block me?

Actually what if I use the dragon age keep to create a save and run and buy all schematics etc. Since I have all but the last 3 choices unlocked (which I assume are from the 3 DLC) Could I create and end game save and finish it then restart with all the stuff?
The keep does not create saves, all it does is create an import for DAO/DA2 decisions. And that is only accessed once (when you start a new game).

YES (!!), if you are on PC you CAN download a save from the Nexus and use that to sync the Golden Nug. Here is one such upload you can look at. Or you can browse the Nexus for some other file of your choosing. After you use this save to sync you can just delete it as it's no longer needed. The Golden Nug sync is a permanent thing; you can only add, never subtract.
Some points:
* You MUST be online, logged in, and Origin must be in Online Mode in order to sync with the Golden Nug.
* After you sync you can go offline again if you wish.
* Every time you sync with the Golden Nug, whether it's for the first time or whenever, you must be online, then you can go offline again afterward. If you are offline the Golden Nug statue will not even appear in Haven or Skyhold.
Enjoy and have fun.

I'm sorry to bump this old thread, but I'm running into an issue here. The nexus appears to be dead (these forums aren't very alive, either...) so hopefully I can find a response here.
I downloaded the very save file that this post has linked to, but I see no Golden Nug in the Undercroft. It is my understanding that you need to complete the final battle to have access to the Golden Nug, but this person only uploaded a save from right before the final battle. Am I expected to finish this save to unlock the Golden Nug? Why not just upload a post-battle save?
This is an issue because I never actually finished the game the first time I played it (I got close), and I'd rather not spoil the ending for myself.

The only time this has happened to me is when I have problems connecting to the server/internet problems.

Yeah, the "all schematics" save still has that quest. I wonder why the author of that mod would choose to load a pre-battle save. Does anyone know of any saves that I can just load to unlock the Nug right away?

That won't work. The nug is only unlocked after finishing the final battle on your account. Loading a separate save post battle will not auto unlock the nug. The save before the final battle is the quickest way to do it for those, like you, who have not unlocked the nug.

I farmed a lot for schematics on my last play through and would really like to avoid that this time, so I guess I'll just try to skip as much dialog as I can and get the final battle over with.

Sorry to say this but i don't believe that because i don't have to restart in order to get my nug back and i can still save the game and when i loose my online connection i can't save the game so as i see it it is just a bug.

Well, not being logged in certainly takes care of the nug. It's not there. So maybe there's a bug, but not being online does just the same. Empty pedestal.
