I bet this topic isn't going to sit well considering everyone is getting insane loot from the victory chest.

 

But this topic is not for you, it's for me and for finally expressing freely my thoughts towards Biower's RNG (yes, I am not going to bother writing their name correctly).

 

Well, turns out that not everyone gets a nice reward from the chests. I bet they upped the loot chance *a lot* so that people are getting the best things out of them but they didn't make it "guaranteed". So that still leaves some people with the shi*test luck in the world like me to pull all the crap out of them.

 

And it's really tough watching everyone pulling hakkons out of them while you get a level 27, a 15835143 repeat of the stinking cheater and some other weapons you have. Meanwhile, people that are miles away in the loot bucket than me are pulling Hakkons and PI amulets out of it. I have been screwed so much by the RNG that I guess that was the last drop.

 

It's just so... unfair. And while life is, without doubt, not fair in general, I can say with absolute conviction that whatever RNG Biower implemented in DA is the crappiest excuse of code... not, of an idea executed that I've seen in my life (and I've been a CS teaching assistant and trust me, I've seen shi*ty code and poorly thought algorithms aplenty).

Just needed to vent. And I know you guys will have some fun responses that will make me feel better. Because you're awesome but...

Definitely the worst aspect of the game. The loot progression curve doesn't make any sense, and there's this false belief that you'll get all the stuff you want through farming gold. Loot score means jack.

This. Since spending >1m apparently isn't enough to get a level 27, I was surprised to get anything good at all.

 

But not guaranteeing people get similar loot when setting an actual reward for a change? Biower suck.

I'd like to say... Ever since doing weekend challenges from when they started I got nothing/nada/zip when everyone was pulling uniques out of their ass. 

 

I've been trying to far lvl 27s for days as I have all the descent weapons and hakkons and had no 27's.

 

Bossun Blade, PI Amulet and Rime in one chest is like miracle and payback for all the salvage weekends events.

Same here, pretty much crap. Got one Purple Stamina amulet today that I already had. Everything else was blue s***. And not even good blue s***, just the random, sub-20 stuff you get as filler to salvage. Meanwhile, I've dumped a Crappe-Tonne of gold into loot chests, still only have a fair-to-middling shield (the blue Dwarven Proving Shield) as my top-of-the-line, and haven't so much as caught a whif of a purple HoK ring. 

 

And I'm reading about people salvaging their extra Hakkons.

No, the really sad thing is it's worse than that. They didn't just learn nothing, they actively made it worse.

 

Every challenge ME3 had had 2 possible reward chests, and each of those had a guaranteed ultra-rare. A guaranteed. Ultra. Rare. And you could get 2 each event. Granted, most of them ended up being 2 weeks apart, but that's still the equivalent of one UR per week. Not a bad reward, and certainly more incentive for players to actually play and spend money.

 

So what's the problem, Bioware? Why the heck didn't you do that again? Why not do it now, when most of the playerbase is gone for good anyway? Might as well reward those still present with something. Come on.

 

Why do you insist on shooting yourself and the playerbase in the foot?

Sad thing as Banshee said is that they can. They did in ME3 but they must have forgotten how to loot.

Sadly, after all my friends were telling me what amazing loot they got (everyone got a hakkon), PI, etc. etc. I was excepting it.

 

I called it on the chest of disappointment and disappointing it was!

No idea why bioware let players have quadruple crescent shadows in their inventory but u can only have one rime, bolt, and brand?what if someone was looking for their third second knight? For shame!!!!

I received the few Drakeskin I didn't possess because I didn't play the Rogue class much - no nothing of real value. I got so irritated after playing to fill up the stooopid Book 3 I spent all of my cash I'd been saving up for a rainy day, perhaps to buy a farm with some animals once the war was over. 125,000 gold later I have zip, zero, nada: still no Level 27, still no Hakkon - I mean I received shite for my investment. I received mucho purples that were all dups; one chest I actually had 7 purples.

Can you elaborate?

 

I thought the general idea that getting more items (through treasure rooms or store chests) gave you a better loot pool.  And I can personally attest that I went from getting getting white to blue to purple accessories while also getting more (and better) purple weapons over time.  If you meant "you'll get *everything* you want" then that's a different matter -- I still don't have a 10 Cunning neck, for example, but have salvaged at least a dozen of the other stats (total, not 12+ of each stat...I think, but haven't technically kept a count).  I'm up to about half a dozen Superb Life Drain rings, though -- I refuse to salvage the extras in honor of Dragonracer.

Same here getting mage drakescale because I don't play mages often. Even with RNG you're supposed to get lucky sometimes. This is like Destiny RNG, where it's set to make you furious. Consistant bad results don't show randomness, it shows pattern which by definition isn't random.

Considering there were a bunch of people who had got all the drakescale by the time of the end of the second book and got grey loot instead of the 3x drakescale, all I can say is atleast you get all purples if you have all the drakescale now.

oh I got a chest with three cards in it, not sure what it was called though, it was the only chest that gave me anything other than salvage the other 5 all gave me white junk ...........no idea why I had so many free chests either but hey ho that's life XD
