Anyone interested? Give me a topic- romance arcs, world building, anything.

I'm in this really great mood now- no drugs, I swear- and I'm up for a totally serious, non-confrontational discussion.

It's so cool, I don't even care that I'll probably look back and laugh at this tomorrow.

:) lmao since when you do a serious discussion when drunk? Take a cup of coffee and just go to sleep.

Kinda tough. You got the whole hive-mind thing, on top of the gross bits.

But Victor (or was it Veetor?) from the Sith Agent storyline of SWTOR is actually a great example. Aescetics aside, he's the classic example of someone who's part of a hivemind. It was a great example of how being a part of a whole doesn't make you a non-person. Sure, he had the Special Status thanks to his role, but it was a great example of how a hive mind/non-hive-mind could have an engaging, considerate, and interesting relationship.

For the Rachni, though, not hearing the songs will stink.

Pft. Newb. I've done some of my best topics when drunk. You should check out some of my old TL;DR threads.

And who drinks coffee to go to sleep? **** wakes me up at 2 in the morning... and that's when I go to sleep at 2200.

Transgendered people do not have a place in this game (or at least a serious one), and BioWare's complete failing to deal with this issue with integrity is a glaring red light.

Bullshit. Everyone who's ever roleplayed a character or even an orientation they are not has proven the relevance of transgendered people. Role playing is an excellent medium to challenge, expand, and flex one's ability to perceive and evaluate their own perceptions on who they are, what they want, and motivations that don't fit societal norms.

You know what I also did while drunk once?

I came up with the asari vj paradox. IT MAKES NO SENSE. (And Liara was faking it all the while.)

So I guess I do some horrible things as well.

Not in this type of story, which is supposed to be about the best humanity has to offer.

There are stories which offer perspectives on people who are dealt really crappy hands in life. Stories about disabled people, or people with birth defeats of some sort, or yep, stories about transgendered people and the like. That's not the kind of world BioWare talks or has ever talked about. Their worlds are worlds of beauty and power where characters being strong (in theory) and attractive and confident is a given.

Anyway, that's a load of nonsense. 'Roleplaying' a female doesn't do anything to prove the relevance of transgendered people.

Bioware should remove decisions from the game as it leads to compromises within the story and prevents a really good tale from being told.

Should they give us an Asari squadmate who is like Captain Enyala?

*snrk*

Anyways, there are totally ways they shouldn't handle it- ways that make it trite- but the idea of questioning one's self, and coming to one's own answer- even if it doesn't fit exceptations- is a totally legit story theme and respectable idea (when done respectfully). And it can definitely fit within the Bioware worlds. When the galaxy wants you being Paragon or Renegade, some people take Red and Blue and go with Orange morality. That's totally worth building on.

I know your drunk and bored, but don't take his bait. It was low even for BSN.

I do, actually. Well, at least if I don't get my evening coffee dose/fix around 2100, I can't sleep. :P

Hm. Don't think that's possible. Bioshock is one example, but SpecOps: The Line is another. Playing, or not playing, the game is also a decision.

What they should do, however, is sit down and decide what themes they want in advance, and then stick to them. None of this Geth pinochio crap after having established the 'we are different, and are cool with that.'

They should also go with thematic morality, rather than tone-based or good-evil. Don't just switch what Paragon stands for just because it's suddenly nice to commit perjury when it's nepotism in your favor.

Dead? I don't think that'd do much.

The concept of smaller scale stories of a protagonist getting caught up in events bigger than his or herself compared to the heroes journey epic that the Shepard trilogy encompassed.

Nah, I think he's enjoying it.

Think Jackie Chan during that final fight scene in Legend of the Drunken Master.

I don't drink coffee or alcohol, so I have no experience with being drunk or needing a caffeine fix to wake up.

But who cares, right?

That wouldn't be the story at all, because that's never been the issue. The issue is not the conclusion that transgendered people are coming to about themselves. That's long been resolved. I'm sure they're very confident in how they feel and what they want to be.

The issue is how the rest of the world is obligated to respond to it. Revealing that people can come to a conclusion about themselves that goes against expectations is not saying anything significant because nobody has disputed that in the first place.

What significance is LARPing supposed to have?

Bioware should only have a default white male protagonist and spend the saved money on improving the implementation of micro transactions.

I'd like a colony established enough to be a bustling city, and in that city I want a Milky Way museum with a holo-guide like Orlando Jones in the Time Machine movie. Extra points if we can take the LI there and annoy NPC's with some heavy-handed PDA.
