lmao since when you do a serious discussion when drunk? Take a cup of coffee and just go to sleep.
But coffee neither sobers you up nor helps you go to sleep.

Dean, you should be ashamed of yourself. That was appalling behavior.

I know!
It was entirely Off Topic and we all know Off Topic behavior IS NOT TOLERATED ON THIS FORUM!
YOU HAVE BEEN REPORTED SIR!!! REPORTED!!!
More like 'I'm awake and modestly embarassed.'
But only modestly.
You shouldn't be. The fact that your impulse under the influence of alcohol is to have a serious discussion is very endearing.
The time I came on the forum drunk, I just start popping into threads in the DAI section and asking for people to post lolcats.

We don't know that it was the first impulse, just the one that was recorded on this forum.

It still impresses me. When I'm drunk I just giggle a lot. I definitely don't form reasoned arguments or spell and punctuate as well as he did.

I enjoy the archetypal Betty and Veronica romance triangle and variations thereof, though I usually prefer the kind that doesn't spend a lot of time belaboring the point (Hawke and Fenris had an interesting dynamic on that point, imo). Anyway, I seem to be alone in this. I think most other people find it overdone. Or maybe stories like Twilight have ruined it in specific.
I think variations on that trope occurred with all of the LIs in Origins, ME1, and DA2. I don't see it as much in other/later Bioware games. I'm interested in speculating whether Bioware is deliberately moving away from that dynamic, or if it's coincidental. Or if this active departure from the trend is more in my head than it is in the story in the first place.
In the name of all of us non-Americans out there, what the hell does that mean? ![]()

A reference to the Archie comics.

TV Tropes came to the rescue, but thanks nonetheless, mein Kaiser! ![]()
I find most Bioware romances for straight men easily fit one of three archetypes. There's the Aeries of the world; that is, sweet, socially awkward virgins with an insane crush for the protagonist. These are the likes of Dawn Star, Liara, Tali, Merrill, or Josephine. The Jaheiras are a bit of a Bioware phenomena and tend to be tough, self-righteous, tomboyish warrior women. See Ashley, Samara, Aveline, and Cassandra for examples. And of course, the sexy and mysterious but also dangerous and standoff-ish Viconias like Silk Fox, Morrigan, Miranda and kinda sorta Isabela and Jack.
Personally, I despise the first trope, which has been used in almost every Bioware game of the last decade. I don't mind the second one but it is most certainly not my type. And the third one is... kinda silly, really. So I guess I'd like Bioware to branch out. I do tend to find love interests that do not quite fit any of these types, like Isabela or Leliana, the most appealing.
So what are your opinions on that, ladies and gentlemen and sadly-no-longer-drunk Dean? ![]()
