Still looking around, but this might be faster/reliable. Does the chance of ammo application increase with rank of ammo used? I know the gun itself has impact on that, but can't remember seeing anything about ammo itself. (Or I forgot. It happens.)

Yes. The "freeze chance rating" goes from 1 for cryo rounds 1 to 2,2 for cryo rounds 4, so the chance of getting cryo explosions is multiplied by 2,2 from CR1 to CR4. As for disruptor rounds, the "stun chance rating" goes from 1 to 2 between level 1 and level 4. My guess is that the same rating is applied for the chance of priming for a tech burst, though it's possible to get TB on bosses while it's impossible to stun them with ammo.

As for incendiary rounds, I'm fairly certain from my experience that the level 4 of the ammo has the highest chance of priming for a fire explosion. My bet would be that a progression quite similar to the ones of cryo and disruptor is applied.

No, incendiary ammo always primes when it hits beyond shields/barriers. The difference between the various levels is how fast that happens.

Explains why I had the feeling that IR 1 primed very poorly.
