Considering that DAI had about 60,000, I feel that MEA will probably have the same amount as DAI. What I'm disappointed in is that Fallout 4 will have a have more dialogue than meaning more narrative. I hope it isn't the case.

How many of those 110,000 lines will deal with arrows, sweet rolls, or wishing for a nuclear winter though?

The quantity of something doesn't always indicate quality. Otherwise that means The Old Republic has more dialogue quality then Fallout 4 for it has 250,000 lines of dialogue.

No, but it does perhaps indicate dedication. Hopefully they wouldn't have spent that sort of money if they weren't confident in the writing.
I wonder how loaded Bethesda is these days. Of course they banked off Skyrim, but it seems that every Bethesda-publisher game that isn't made by Bethesda-studio is a bust, aside from Dishonor.

Fair enough, I just edited my post with that The Old Republic has 250,000 lines of dialogue, so it seems like a poor stat until you hear what the game has.

That's an apt equation for goty-awards right there.

Doesn't fallout four have a plethagy of popular names they've added as dialogue? I think mostly for your robot companion. The ability to be called by names probably adds a large number of dialogue lines without them being very meaty or different.

Bethesda says they put in the 1000 most common names for boys and the 1000 most common names for girls into Fallout 4.

I'd laugh too, but it seems like they are trying some very different things now.
I generally laugh at the narratives btw (love their worlds though).. but I'm getting kind of stoked for this.

They definitely seem to be putting in the extra mile for Fallout 4. Probably because it takes place in the Boston area which is one of the most important areas in the Fallout lore.

Isn't Bethesda around/from Boston too? Probably have many quirks and material to work from, just from real experience. edit: Oops. Nvm. They're from Maryland... so I guess FO3 was their home.

I'll be the first to ridicule and crucify the narrative, if it's bad. Trust me. I don't like their storytelling...
But it'll be funny if Bethesda changes their tune. And I'll have fun.

I'll probably have fun with it regardless.
However it is Bethesda. When it comes to narrative, we should need to actually get our hands on the game before saying it's disappointing that it'll probably have more narrative than a BioWare game.
Cause half their lines have a habit of being pointless filler that gets repeated every 5 minutes.

Fallout 4 will be grand. We all know this. Adding in all the first names could be a new bar set for RPGs. I mean, once you have something that is superior i.e. having the legendary and elusive first name in an RPG, one doesn't want to settle for a game without it.

'Lines' of dialogue can be as short as 'yeah, I'll see you later' though. It isn't wordcount.
And just as a PSA: Codsworth is the one who says your name. There is no confirmation or indication that anyone but this single, optional companion says your name throughout the game.

Yeah, there is typically a reason why having voiced dialogue use a custom entered first name is so illusive in gaming.
I imagine it wont be quite as amazing as some of us are picturing it.

You have played a Bethesda game, right?
I'm just asking.
I think a better question is have you ever seen a Dutch thread? Has anything ever prevented him from hateposting something groundless and poorly thought out?

I think I'd prefer Andromeda if it had a lower line count than Fallout 4. I like minimalist dialogue.

Quantity doesn't equal quality look at all the freakin fetch quest, i am pretty relaxed dude but even im getting sick of hearing these numbers marketing throw out , 100.000 hours of gameplay 50,000 hours of dialogue 3 hats OMG! Did you say 3 hats?! Let me bend over this table right now sir!
Just tell me if the game is good... Or better yet show me, and not through some pre-order/pre-rendered regurgitation.
