As most of you know Trespasser took place 2 years after the defeat of Corypheus. And with that amount of time our companions grew and made names for themselves.

Now I don't know about any of you but Mama Cadash and I were bursting with pride when catching up the all of our companions. They all grew and became productive members of Thedosian society [except for that one rebel child, but its okay he'll get straightened out soon.]

But out of all the companions I was probably the most proud of Dorian. He is now a magister and wants to change Tevinter for the better. While it was sad to see him leave Southern Thedas, his scene actually brought me to tears, I couldn't have been happier to see him go and accomplish his dreams. To you Dorian Pavus, to being the best friend and best dressed mage in all of Thedas.

So enough of my sappy ranting. Who were you most proud of? And why?

He is one of my favorites as well. I play female because I'm female, and Dorian is the Inquisitor's best friend and family. I also really like Cass. She has the ability to see what is wrong with her organization and tries to fix it.

Iron Bull allows you to make the decision what path he takes. Saving the Chargers makes him a better person. Cullen also has the ability to reflect on his weaknesses and if you support him kicks the lyrium habit. Cullen uses his funds to help others. The game has some pretty good companions.

Yes! All of them made such great strides after Corypheus was beaten. With Blackwall accepting his name back again, Cass rebuilding the Seekers. And Holy Crap Varric being Viscount! I couldn't even keep the smile off my face!.  :D

Particulary Dorian for the same reasons as yours ( and letting him go is even harder when you've played the romance with him but I'm glad he's going to do something for his homeland)... and Sera: she's a true friend and the way she asks you to join the Red Jenny is very touching.
Oh...and Cassandra is a real friend too and she's rebuilding the Seekers and...
Oh wait..! They were my team all along and I'm so proud of all of them :)

My Inquisitor's best friend Cassandra does a great job as Divine in keeping the peace in Southern Thedas and rebuilds the Seekers for the better.

iI'd also mention Dorian, because he's come a long way to get to where he's at now. Although changing Tevinter is an uphill battle, he has the Inquisitor's support.

Dorian was tops, but I was also really proud of Blackwall and Sera. I confess myself a bit disappointed in Blackwall's character arc in DAI; it felt a little perfunctory, especially after Revelations. But in Trespasser, he found a balance between accepting his old name and forging it into something new. Very proud of him for that.

And Sera...there's such a world of difference between how she reacts to the Temple of Mythal, and how she reacts to the truth about the Evanuris in Trespasser. She's done a lot of growing up but never stops being Sera <3

Blackwall. Grey Warden or free man, I like how this guy's story concludes and what he decided to do with his life.

The most 'successful' of the companions seem to be Dorian, Varric and the Divines. But Varric doesn't seem that into it, and the only happy Divine appears to be Vivienne. Dorian is not that happy either, but he does seem to be the one that will make the most change in the future games (since they've been hinting at Tevinter for forever). So I'm the most proud of him even though I hated that there wasn't an option to have the inquisitor go with them.

I got to give it to Cole (humanized). And not just because I think Maryden is one of the most underrated NPCs of the whole game.

Ah yes! When he kissed Maryden I shouted, "That's my baby!" Proud mom moment.  :D

Don't really get why people are proud of Dorian. He doesn't put in any effort to get where he is. He got his position because his father left it for him and Maevaris was the one who started the Lucerni faction. He basically rides on the coattail of others all his life, and people go crazy for him just because he's gay.

If I had to be proud of someone, I would be proud of Varric. He cared about Kirkwall and starting turning that dive into a place people can be proud of.

Sera! For 2 reasons...

1) For an elven lover, she actually shows concern for her(inquisitor) feelings on all the elfy stuff in Trespasser. Big girl powers activate!

2) For an inquisitor of high approval, she specifically makes a point to try and stay with him/her, either through marriage or the Jennies. This is just something that clicked for me and made me smile.

Magister is not something to be proud of, and he didn't put any effort in getting there anyway. I'll give it to Sera as the most evolved companion.

Uh, I guess everyone? Or most of them anyway, they all have issues that they deal with through their personal missions. Sera grows more between endgame and Tresspasser than in the main game though.

Dorian and Iron Bull are obvious picks because they have to face up to their entire background. Dorian has to realise that change comes through action and Bull realise that he has already changed and just needs to admit to his actions.

Cassandra and Blackwall gets to deal with their respective pasts and has to both face old ghosts to get change.

I guess the only one that I really didn't see any real change in was Vivienne, she doesn't appear to soften really.

Dorian and Vivi but then I knew Vivi was gonna be a successful Divine.  So I'll go with Dorian. Ambassador, Magister, running his own faction.  He's no longer insecure about his relationship with the IQ. I couldn't help but fangirl over it all.

Dorian. Reasons stated by others earlier lol

Blackwall , I only did his forgiven and freed arc but it was amazing right through Trespasser, glad to see he at least made the most of the second-chance my Inquisitor gave him, and continues to do so. I almost didn't want to give yet another character a second chance, tried that in DA2 and it backfired immensely (that being Samson, my Hawke helped him get back into the Order as a second chance. He wasted it horrendously)

Well all of them in their own way, although I still think Varric a jerk for his stupid joke about marriage; for Cassandra romance this resulted in an excruciatingly awkward conversation, with Dorian it resulted in intense disappointment since at this point I didn't know he was leaving and for my Solas romance it was just cruel.

I do have to put in a word for Vivienne.    She seemed genuinely concerned for my welfare as the mark became progressively worse and actively suggested working with Dorian to try and do something about it.     She also seemed genuinely concerned for my Solas romance Inquisitor.    At least she realised that my girl wouldn't have got over him even after 2 years, unlike Cassandra who was fooled so easily by Varric.

Blackwall also surprised me in how he had embraced the second chance at life I gave him.     Sera also had grown a lot through my friendship, which made me glad that those Inquisitors who had persevered with her had taken the trouble to do so.

As for Dorian, I was glad he finally found himself able to use the L word and that he had such faith in our relationship that he could trust it would continue to endure long distance; for someone who had learned "not to hope for more" when it came to a gay relationship, that was highly satisfying.      It was also good that he could continue the legacy of his mentor Alexius and friend Felix, since WoT2 shows how committed Alexius used to be to education leading to a better Tevinter for all.     I hope Dorian doesn't forget that Alexius was in favour of educating the Soporati as well as the mages in his push for reform.

The character I am most proud of throughout the entire game is Cassandra.

I love the way she is a devout, committed believer who still can learn and grow. I also like the fact that any time she discovers she is mistaken or wrong, she does her best to learn from that mistake to take it and make it better. She constantly evaluates her own actions and motivations and tries not to blame others but takes responsibility for her stuff, good and bad. She walks the walk of her faith every day. Hot-headed and prone to leap, she can end up screwing up, but she admits the error, works to fix it, and moves on.

In my estimation, she is the best Divine, driven by duty to the faith and not by ambition, but I don't like putting her in that position because it's such a hard path for her to walk. "To thine own self be true," seems to be her motto. She does her best to be true to her self, to her to her faith and to the organizations she chooses to serve. She is the character of whom I am most proud.

Vivienne deserves a special nod--especially for a playthrough where the Inquisitor romanced Solas. I think she better than anyone else understood that you don't easily get over losing someone.

What about slaves?

Mmmm TBH still Leliana!Divine, Cass too & Cullen. BW, Dorian too. And Varric. OK basically everyone...

Seriously I was quite surprised, since in my PT Hawke was Viscount (sided with Templar) & survived the Fade. To see Varric being viscount & Hawke helping is kinda weird.

Blackwall. Grey Warden or free man, I like how this guy's story concludes and what he decided to do with his life.

:)

What about slaves?

...I know once of a RL country whose population was denied education so that colonization can continue...

Personally I believe that educating the slaves will makes them not wanting to be slaves anymore. It kinda gives them options, notion of freedom. Which is good or bad depending on whose point of view.

That's why I asked, because slavery issue constantly being omitted when gushing over slave-owning magister Dorian.

Right now, slavery is the least of Dorian's problems.  The Qunari are attacking in full force and Dorian is working to increase the power of his political faction and stay alive while doing so.  It may sound harsh but the slavery issue is a problem for another day.  And the slavery issue is never omitted, I just don't see the point in talking about it every single time Dorian is mentioned.
