I'm curious for some who seems to know very well the ancient elven ruins and also some spirits of the fade,i bet that he is even better than Merrill and Morrigan in elves secrets and history.
The dude was around since FLemeth was a little girl, and when he sacrificed himself to stop the curse he gave me the impression to be a little bit tired of his life.

Arlathan had fallen long before Zathrian was even born.

At best, he accumulated tons and tons of... misinterpreted lore. A bunch of nothing.

I find a bit weird and ironic that players are willingly to dismiss the knowledge of those who do not belongs to their inner circles of friends, without providing consolidated proofs of their opinion.
Arlathan falled long before Zathrian was born doesn't really mean anything, since aside from the evanuris and few elves and some titants  there is no one from that age.
Zathrian is  one of the most renowned Keeper among the Dalish clans,he lived for centuries and was capable to call powerful spirits of the fade who were even more ancient,he seem to know the ancient elven ruins an tombs and also his curse was an elaborated magic that gave him eternal youth while cursed also the enemy in those area,a curse that he didn't removed to preserve his own life.
A keeper for centuries also a powerful blood mage and yet people want to underestimate his knowledge....of course... because he is not a party member...
What he said about the old god  Urthemiel in a banter
"As if it weren't enough that one of the most noble and terrible creatures ever to be spawned of our world should be twisted into something so... unnatural. "
yea really the words of an ignorant......
Just because an elf isn't from Arlathan doesn't mean that is not knowledgeable, not  everyone as to be
Solas or Dirthamen to be called knowledgeable
So at best you can say to know little if nothing about what kind of knowledge he accumulated over the centuries.

I can only guess what he knows. He's pretty ho-hum about those ruins... when there's actually some major lore there for elves. It seems like he doesn't truly appreciate it. It's a chamber for their Uthenera ritual, I think. Like the Dalish origin ruins, it seems dedicated to Falon'Din. And the fact that humans and elves were working together in these places at one point is strange.. Tamlen thought so about the other place.

A lot of Keepers probably know a ton though.. I think even Marathari does. She's just shaped by more anti-demonic stances (I can't blame her).

i believe that Zathrian know very well the ruins, since he manage to reach the Warden in the last chamber by using a secret passage that the Warden didn't know before that the lady of the forest opend it.
Keepers knowledge is not to underestimate, especially the one of those who lived for so long in study and research.

He knew how to get past the trees, but I don't know much else. The uthernera stuff is beyond where he was.. and had to be opened with that water jug ritual.

I don't underestimate Keeper knowledge though. I just don't know much about him. He seems to know a lot of about summoning spirits.. so do the elves in Masked Empire.

Zathrian has been around a while, but even he isn't older than the Dales.  And before that were centuries as slaves to Tevinter.  Whatever knowledge survived their enslavement was handed down by word of mouth, and as we learn in Inquisition most of it was completely wrong.

He knows about as much about elves as any other keeper might, which is to say maybe more than other Dalish elves, certainly more than city elves do.  But he has Vallaslin on his face too.  And if Abelas saw him he would have that 'you aren't my kind' attitude as much with Zathrian as the Dalish Inquisitor.

Zathrian is knowledgeable as a MAGE, yeah.

But he doesn't know about the old elvhenan anymore than Pol does.
