I'm not saying I don't know how to use FM..I just don't like it that much. Never have been a fan of those mines (Fire or Ice). I prefer to use Lightning Bolt. Fast cooldown, Paralyze, AOE knockdown, great damage (complete destruction with Storm Pact BeltWouldn't you suck regardless?

I have to refute that AW is terrible above Perilous. And like Bruh, I'm not a fan of the mines. I've seen some players use FM to great effect...I'm not one of them. I can use WoF to great effect instead and wonder what other players are doing with it.
The great thing is there are different builds and people can get really good with them. Why condemn them if they're getting the job done?

I definitely agree with the last part. You should try AW with the lightening Pact Belt and the Hakkon Staff. He will literally never lose barrier if you keep basic attacking. Like 1K+ basic attack damageCan't we all just get along?

No, this is BSN. That is not allowed, as per the rules of BSN Drama.
They're also 'not getting the job done'.
AW's the next worst value to Necro. The only players that want to bring AW in higher difficulties are scrubs, because you get MUCH more value out of other mages especially with the latest game changer around: Saarebas.
The AW's primary feature is converting dps to self barrier. Well Sara can barrier the entire party. The next best feature is Pota, which no one else has, but due to how spawns are done less useful in this current meta (i.e. less spawn nuking).
Otherwise its low-to medium dps. Sara and Virtuoso do damage AND barrier way better, Sara, Ele and Keeper do CC way better.
Elemental types are a mixed bag between mages.
But really, BSN is only here for drama / entertainment... and I like to pick on terrible builds / class choices.

I have...I love the damage, but man it's slow when coming from HoP. This begs the question...do you deal more damage with 50% more speed or the 100% more crit damage? Currently I find the speed increase more valuable since cast animations on other spells is decreased.

Why would I bother with 1k basic attacks on AW when I already get that on Sara without the Belt AND do buttloads more damage.

Its not 100% more crit damage, its 100% more critical damage bonus. The relative damage bonus is actually less depending on how much other Crit Damage Bonus you have. Assuming no other critical bonus damage, its roughly 71% relative damage bonus when you crit.
You'll also have to keep in mind that unlike Sara, you can't spam abilities indefinitely, as CL has a CD so when you hit you'll be hitting for less. You will be hitting more often though especially since you're less likely to be interrupted with the increased cast speed.
Guaranteed shocked also means the enemy takes more damage too due to shocked debuff increases damage taken. Also combos. So it is a trade off. The actual game DPS is harder to record without software tools doing it for you.

Sorry, I don't buy this. The "scrubs" aren't doing AW right then. And I don't use PoTA. Since you're not listening, I'm not going to explain. ![]()
The AW can carry others (non-elites) in NM...until Bruh joins with his Reaver...Jesus man...

Nah, Virtuoso & Sara ftw. Bruh knows what I'm talking about... since he can't even finish swinging before enemies burn to ashes, let alone get to enemies half the time.

I have used Lightning Bolt before. Hell, I was using it just yesterday for laughs. Even after reducing the mana cost, it still costs far too much for what it does. Forgettable damage. A little paralyze and knockdown [which is also forgettable (or completely nonexistent) unless your target is in the middle of a large group]. Really, all it has going for it is the short cooldown, but even that just tricks you into casting a mana intensive spell too frequently, causing mana starvation.

Your poor memory's being selective again. You errorenously decided to go reaver during the elven ruins perilous grinds I was doing. I was just hot licks chain shotting everything around. I'm like, ok if he wants to go reaver that's fine but... not necessary. You kept on choosing reaver until swapped to lego. We did FC runs afterward because someone needed the dragon completions.

Perilous. Good to know that is your benchmark. I wonder how many times you have been talking about Perilous while making it seem like you are talking about harder modes?

LOL I have a lot of benchmarks and testing data. You thinking that Perilous is the only one just shows how simplified and narrow your thinking is.

Immolate still sucks. FM DOES rule.
LOL I've kicked eles from my party for not having Firewall and insisting on using noobolate that does trivial damage. The only time immolate gets good is when you're a mage using a maul, and that's when even basic attack is good at 2k per hit.
Well okay I have to say Immolate isn't THAT bad... With firepact and chaotic focus you can pretty much 1 shot average footsoldier / ghosts and if that first shot didn't kill them the very first dot damage tick would.
I know fire mine does better, more damage, more CC, blah blah blah. But I just don't ENJOY the prime time and you can only have 1 fire mine at a time which is irritating as ****.
However, if the dev ever decide to give us access to flaming array upgrade for Fire Mines from SP then I would fall on the floor start kissing their feet...
3 * 25k plus no prime time plus spam-able, ROFL I would start playing melee Elementalist right-away.

Not convinced that's a bad thing.

Seriously though the Ele is ideal for the Fire belt, especially with my standard Ele build due to all the persistent spells on the map. If there's a Fire Mine (or storm/wall) on the ground, the ele can self-revive, and subsequent kills will heal you from death siphon.
LOL Be considerate for us scrubs too! Maybe some would just get 1 shot and can't get any kills off you! ![]()

AW's actually one of the worse canidates for higher difficulties despite how highly others rate it. It may be easy to use and gets quick returns with fade shield, but its potential is much less too. Less damage, less cc, etc. All it has going for it is dps based barrier on self. and all the other team based barriers are better.
When I saw this I think of all those who would try run away from me whenever I try to cast barrier...
Conclusion: if you wish to be a babysitter, go for Saarebas instead.

Well okay I have to say Immolate isn't THAT bad... With firepact and chaotic focus you can pretty much 1 shot average footsoldier / ghosts and if that first shot didn't kill them the very first dot damage tick would.
Immolate starts balanced in routine and gets progressively worse as enemy HP scales up. Burning dots don't stack, so if you have firewall up on an enemy you won't be getting the immolate dot. By perilous, immolate is trash, and by NM it barely tickles the enemy. HB laughs at your Immolate and bonks you in the face dead for casting the trash skill.
The only time immolate isn't trash is when you can do 5k+ per cast with it. That'll one shot most enemies in Perilous and two shot smaller enemies in NM. FM guarantees one shotting enemies without the Fire Pact Belt and benefits WAY more from CF than Immolate does.
While I want more FM's at once, you only have one immolate at once too (and it does less of everything). If enemies aren't jumping you, then you're doing your job killing them at a distance. If they are, which they will, FM takes activates, blows up your enemy and you'll be casting another almost immediately.

Another reason not to play AW lol
I am considerate of scrubs. They play near the barrier zone behind los, or they die. If they want to run off and die, I let them, and then win despite their scrubbiness-- or give them the boot / let them ragequit and win without them. Either or.
