They look like humans with bicycle helmets to me, but that's just my opinion.
Here are some interesting designs for Asari I've come across.

They were never supposed to be all that alien (especially since they're purposely trying to make themselves appealing to other races).
I think one of the designers once said they were supposed to evoke a woman getting out of a pool, with her hair slicked back.
Well if you go by the overheard conversation in the bar on Illium they do look different.
You just see them how they would appeal to you if i am remembering correctly heh
But anyway Asari are fine as is people already identify the way they look as Asari changing it now would be a bad idea.
Asari spotted on Earth:

EDIT:
They ARE somewhat boring, wouldn't mind them being a bit more alien looking.

Nope. Like other said in this thread, they are built to be sexy for all the other races : Turian see the skull, galarian the flexibility, human the main figure...
But I will be pleased by seeing more mysterious Matriarch.
How about curvy blue hot women with blue hair instead?
No, please no and the last picture is the vision if i'm correct of Matt Rhodes

"This image was purely speculative on my part. I imagined the galaxy changed by the synthesis choice. Because life and technology were joined (and I didn’t know the Mass Relays would be destroyed yet) I imagined that there would be no more need for space ships. Any creature could just link in with the nearest relay and jump to any world they chose, surface to surface. This would start changing the biology of every creature in the galaxy as they would no longer be limited to any one environment. Here are some Asari/Salarian/Human/? in the far, far future taking a carefree stroll in the grass."
No thanks. How about a Quarian redesign....
No thanks
I actually think ME has nice balance in aliens looking somewhat humanoid, but not too human. I don't really see reason to make changes.
Agreed I don't either
People keep complaining that the aliens are too human looking, I can bet you if people met most of the aliens of ME at night in a dark alley they would find them quite scary because they really don't look all that human, Asari being the closest to humans, now meet a Krogan, Vorcha or Turian in the flesh and that would be a weird encounter.
I rather they redesign Human hairstyle & beards. Asari aren't important; blue female with low genetic structures.
Mmmmmm....no. No I like them as they are. Agree with the Quarian statement though, they could use a makeover.

I guess some prefer there weren't any humanoid looking aliens and everyone would look like Rachnis, but I'm used to seeing mostly humanoids in scifi and Bioware already does more than most in making aliens have unique non-human looks so I'm quite happy what they have going on.
BioWare, please don't redesign any of the species you've already created. Leave that silliness to 343i. Introduce new species that are more alien instead.
What species did 343 redesign?
Sh#t.
leave the asari alone!
i am afraid of this "redesign" things.
The main problem in ME is not the alien races looking too humanoid. No. It is the fact that the non-humanoïd looking races stay out of sight. I want to see Volus in their natural environnement (without their suit), Elcors wandering on high-pressure planets while humanoïd ones suffers like hell, Hanar speeding in water while other races looked stupid by using machines. Damn, even the Marauder Shields webcomics introduced badass-looking Hanar spacecraft!
Leave all that has been said, done and shown as is PLEASE! Stop changing the lore!
BW can say the humanoid form was prevalent in the Milky Way. Let Octopi or heck, even Chickens be the base forms drawn on for Andromeda if you want.
Just my opinion. ![]()
