I only played Halo 4 once or twice when it came out, but I'm pretty sure 343i changed the design of a bunch of the Covenant species, like the Elites, Grunts, and the Jackals. It wasn't only a graphical upgrade. The new armour looks nice, but the design of the species, the skin, etc is different now.

I've played every Halo numerous times. I wouldn't call anything they did in Halo 4 a "redesign" (other than Chiefs armor). Every species just so happened to look better than they ever have. They were all easily identifiable.

Yeah, you can easily tell what they are, but the little things were changed. The Elite's skin looks completely different, more reptilian now, the Grunts head looks different... At first I thought the Jackals were changed but apparently they're a sub-species from a different part of their home world, I don't believe the same applies for the others. I don't mind the new look, they look more menacing now.
I don't like how Chief has different armour from the get-go, I would've preferred that he got that upgrade when aboard the Infinity (I'm sure they could've BS'd some reason for having it on board) but he does look more awesome now. My biggest issue is the FUD retcon. It makes a fun first mission but if you play Halo 3 then immediately play Halo 4 it ruins the immersion, for me anyway.
So... back to the Asari.

This video explains things a bit
This makes me wonder, what do the Asari really look like? Do they look like how we see them now, or is that just how we humans see them? What do they look like to other Asari?
Very little chance of this happening, the Asari species has a large fan base.
Now,
The quarians are a different topic,
There still hasn't been a full reveal of the quarians.
So that ship hasn't sailed and they can still be tweaked slightly, which I hope they do.
Indeed, look at the Dragon Age 2 elves -.- or the re-design of Ashley in ME3 -.- (damned, barbie dolls aren't soldiers (at least not front line troops that get shot at and get dirty etc.)) - sufficient to say I am against any sort of race/character re-designs like that (there have been companies who have pulled something like that off, but they are far and in between and I generally wouldn't recommend trying it (one successful re-design was the Klingons in Star Trek, with those ridges from TNG onward!))
"This image was purely speculative on my part. I imagined the galaxy changed by the synthesis choice. Because life and technology were joined (and I didn’t know the Mass Relays would be destroyed yet) I imagined that there would be no more need for space ships. Any creature could just link in with the nearest relay and jump to any world they chose, surface to surface. This would start changing the biology of every creature in the galaxy as they would no longer be limited to any one environment. Here are some Asari/Salarian/Human/? in the far, far future taking a carefree stroll in the grass."
Wow, they really wanted to preach their transhumanist religion.
Oh and to the main topic , NO!
The 3rd and 4th pictures are not bad though given how familiar they feel they are likely just reskins from some other media, the first one is epic lame making them look like VI, the 2nd is just boring. But really there is just no need, they look good as they are.

The reason why the armor looks different is because your not fighting the Covenant. Your fighting space pirates.
Yes, redesign the species that was stated by developers to be intentionally designed to be the setting's own Orion girl/twi'lek esque fapbait. Good chance of that happening.
Nope - I find an asari redesign to be entirely unnecessary because they're not currently aesthetically displeasing. If BW feel like redesigning a species because they want to change things up a bit, it's not like that would bother me. However, I think BW's time and resources would be better spent on more important story-related stuff. I think the asari are fine as is, and I say that as a female who isn't even remotely interested in ever romancing one of them.
P.S. I'd much prefer you invest your $$ in another Thane-like LI, BW - only minus the terminal disease this time, kthxbye!

I like the Asari the way they are. The quarians seem like the biggest candidates for a redesign (if they appear in Andromeda), they are the most human-like race out there.
I like the asari the way they are. I wouldn't want them redesigned even if they were intentionally designed to be the "fapbait". The only problem I had with ME's aliens were that most of them had the three fingered hands except for the asari and drell (not gonna count the jellies / elcor). BW could've been a bit more creative with that but otherwise it isn't a tremendous issue, unlike with the whole quarian thing. They are the one race I'm really hoping to see a new design for even while keeping the suits.
Why? Are they too pretty and as a result triggered you?
Nope. Like other said in this thread, they are built to be sexy for all the other races : Turian see the skull, galarian the flexibility, human the main figure...
But I will be pleased by seeing more mysterious Matriarch.
I would think it would take a lot more than one's skull to be considered attractive though. Are you attracted to batarians? Batarians are completely like humans except for the skull, body/figure and all is the same.
Since Nyreen's reveal, I was perplexed by what mass effect writers are telling us about physical attraction between species and just how nitpicky or not each species is about another species' anatomical differences/similarities and/or why. So can anyone point out where asari and female turian skulls are alike, and how that would make such a big difference to a turian, male or female?
Or is it the male turian skulls that asari skulls resemble? Would those turian males attracted to asari skulls be bi or gay since they resemble male turians?
