So I finally got the two free DLC items. I went back to the camp, talked to everyone I could and see absolutely nothing on how to get Shale at all. I have no quests for him other than what It says in the download screen.

The only thing I can think is that I have to go to Soldier's Peak to get him. This would be retarded becuase you have to buy that expansion. Why would they give you a free item that can only be picked up by buying a second item? Not cool.

Oh, and the blood armor.... Why the heck dont they give you something good that you can use. My character is a mage and will never use this armor. Alistair cant use this armor for another 20 levels or so becuase the insane amount of strength it requires. I thought the point of a promotional item is that everyone can use it while they are starting to help them out. Apparently not here. Here it is a pretty item that you will probably never be able to use.

I love the game so far, but they "promotional items" are pissing me off.

1. The point of the Blood Dragon armor is that it's some of the best armor in the game. I don't think they wanted to stamp the game logo on something you'd be tossing out around level 8.

2. No, the golem quest is not soldier's peak. It's a regular quest. You'll find it while exploring the world.

You should have something new on your world map. Go there to begin The Stone Prisoner.

It requires 38 strength. Alistair is lvl 7 or so for me and only has about 22 strength. Its gonna be a while. They really should have made something for mages and rogues too. Not everyone who plays this game is going to be a brainless warrior with all strength....

You go talk to a merchant in one of the areas of the game, and he tells you about Shale and if you accept what he says, you start the quest(it unlocks an area on your map). I would tell you the area, but I'm on campus so I can't load the world map. I want to say it is near Redcliffe. I believe it is called Sulcher's Pass.

Blood Armor is supposed to be a top tier item for your parties tank. I mean, in game lore, it was armor from ancient dragon killers, not like it's supposed to be something comparable to cured leather.

Hope that helps a bit

For Shale, you will have a quest under the tab marked "Premium Content" that will be listed as "Sulcher's Pass". This is the quest to start the Shale line as it tells you to visit a merchant who has a very interesting task for you.

Question regarding blood armor - all I have is the chest piece. Do I find other pieces later in game? Or is the chest piece the only part of it?

I like the blood armor, but then again I'm a level 6 warrior. Isn't the staff a mage item?

The Blood Armor appeared in my inventory when I downloaded the DLC. If you downloaded the Shale DLC, it is a quest in your quest log. Tells ya what to do/where to go.

Once you are able to go to your parties camp you can buy the rest of the armor from the guys that sell stuff in it.

When you get to your party's camp, the dwarf merchant has the rest of the pieces for sale along with Bergen’s Honor if you have the collector's edition.

How expensive is it? And can I get there as soon as I get to the world map or do I need to do more quests first?

Thanks in advance.

From what I've experienced by the time you get there you should have more than enough to buy the whole set.  In terms of story progression, its just past the Lothering Village.

I just finished the same origin story and wondered that as well. Seems to me like someone forgot about that possibility. Or maybe I missed something myself.

In most games there is some kind of chest next to the jail cell, or in the prison where your items are...

I was just traveling between areas on a different quest and my char stopped for what I thought was going to be a mini fight but was instead a vendor and that kicked me off on the quest. I hadnt noticed the location on the world map previously although it may have been there.

I was never given the Blood Dragon Armor, nor does the dwarf offer it at the Party Camp. (He does offer Bergen's helmet and Final Reason staff, but no blood armor).

that sucks

Oh, and my quest log says NOTHING about Shale either.

So I'm probably screwed out of practically all the pre-order stuff.

Yeah, that was worth it.

I had the same kind of thing Happen to Me as a Dawrf Noble. Just Disable all the Item DLC stuff Load your game Force Start it Then Save Exit and reactivate the DLC stuff. The Items will be back in your Inventory.

Cheak ot make sure that all the DLC stuff is Cheaked on the DLC page at the Start Menu. if it's not it won't be there.
