So I recently started replaying the whole Mass Effect saga. Had no Problems With the first two Titles. Absolutely loved playing them. And then I came to playing the third installment... which had a for the time of release really dumb choice of a Mechanic... We probably know all what I am Talking about: Galactic readiness based on playing Multiplayer.

I was mad, when I was forced to pay this poorly designed piece of c**** in my first playthrough. I gave it a chance - it was bad, however I wanted my best possible ending so I had to play.

BUT NOW, comming back to the game, importing my Character from ME2 playing for like 10 hours and THEN realising: "WELL F****! How am I supposed to get my galactic readiness to the point where I can achive the ending I wanna get?"
Problem is: There is NOONE online to play. So not only that I am forced to play this "Multiplayer" again, no I CANNOT PLAY IT AT ALL EVEN IF I WANTED. This forced me to alter the game itself in order to get the game working. It's just so stupid.

Thank you EA. And thank you Bioware, for not having the balls to tell EA that their poorly designed, forced Multiplayer is not supposed to alter the singleplayer expirience.

Did noone come up withz the idea of patching the Galactic readiness so that ppl who replay the game can enjoy the game? I mean seriously?!

There are enough war assets in the game to get all endings even at 50% readiness.

Yeah but barely. And the thing is, you'd have to crawl every system gathering every little piece of war asset to ensure you get what you deserve. It's complete nonsense. Furthermore it does still not justify for not patching away galactic readiness when you're not able to alter the readiness in any way.

Yep. If you want max EMS, you'll need to spend an hour or so doing the scanning. Still faster than using MP to get the readiness up, though.

If playing an ME3 default playthrough without playing any of the dlc's, have the extended cut installed which lowers ems required for the breath scene to 3100, there isn't enough war assets to get that breath scene unless the player prevents TIM from shooting Anderson. Anderson will give the player 200 war assets for doing that leading to the breath scene. A playthrough like that gives approximately 2970 ems and with saving Anderson, gives the breath scene if the player chooses destroy. If player lets TIM shoot Anderson, the player will lose 100 war assets

You can use the Galaxy at War game on N7 HQ to bring your galactic readiness up in-game.  It takes a little time to max it but it's an alternative to planet scanning if you don't like that.

This rant makes no sense. You start out complaining that you don't want to play multiplayer to get your EMS up so that you can get the breath scene. When it is pointed out that with the extended cut you don't need to play multiplayer, your complaint becomes "I have to play all the game the game to get the breath scene." Look, if you don't want to play all the game, fine, but the ending you get is now on you, not the game.

With the Extended Ending (which is free to download - and you probably already have it) it is EASY PEASY to max out EMS. Just scan a few planets. Not even a lot.

I typically end the game with 4000+. And in fact, since I don't like the "Shepard lives" option with Destroy I have to work hard not to get to many EMS points.

Also if you have the other DLC's you will get tons of points. Omega alone adds over 400.

Try saying that with an ME3 default playthrough and not playing any of the dlc's

I've had my ems very low many times without working too hard to get that low of a number

With all 4 dlc's, From ashes, Citadel, Leviathan and Omega, the player can get 1195 war assets

I go on the N7HQ once or twice a day and do a round of one hour missions. Just spending a minute a day keeps my EMS around the high 80% mark.

Thanks to previous multiplayer promotions, I don't play it any more, I have enough war assets for the final assault, and all the endings, at the very start of the game.

My problem with the MP implementation was not being able to avoid the extra EMS even if I wanted to.

You would have to wait for the Galactic Readiness to drop to 50%, launching the game so it recognises that level, and then only ever launch the game in offline mode (so it wouldn't load any promotions.)

That way you would have access to the game without any of the multiplayer benefits.

Not exactly how it should be done but you do have the option.

Isn't scanning the planet and running the various Citadel side missions part of the default game? Doing all of those will give you enough EMS. Throw in a couple of the DLC;s (Leviathan and Omega for example) and you'll have well over 3k.

Now if you just wanna fight it out, ignore all the various citadel and planet scanning missions, then yes you are going to have trouble reaching a perfect game. But like I said, IMHO the side missions, planet scanning, and DLC's are part of the default game.

No. Even if the player has the extended cut installed, the most a player would be able to collect was about 2970 ems

Yes if the dlc's are included in a default playthrough it's not too hard to get 3100 ems

It also makes no sense because the endings all still suck. Seriously, though, what good is the breath scene? I always thought it was a lazy toss in to make you feel good.

And how quickly readiness went up and how slowly it went down.

Well, it's only theoretical for me since I don't MP in the first place. But if I did, this would have been a problem as long as I wanted to do both SP and MP simultaneously.

I don't think I've ever played ME3 without out the DLC's. I came to the game in 2013 - so after the "ending" drama, and after all the DLC's were out. I consider all but Omega part of the base game. Omega I run for the battles (which are fun). And Citadel, I treat as an epilog - so any points from it I don't get. I don't even visit the apartment until after the final battle on Earth.

I can see skipping Omega.. but the others, never.
