It was 2014 GOTY and won various accolades from the gamin community, the bsn is the forums where this game gets panned. This is the turning point for Bioware and the rest of their games should look @ DAI and follow suit.

Which is why i think ME:A taking notes from Inquisition is a good thing. Just wanted to post this as a thanks to bioware for such an amazing game, easily their best and not it isnt up for debate.

Anyway should future bioware games takes ntoes from Inquisition? I mean why wouldnt they?

As I understand it ME:A will have very little resemblance to DAI. My source is inofficial but insider ;-)

But yeah DAI is goood =)

(not sure if OP is trolling or not)

Where should I start my list?

Vast, empty areas with repetitive and bland grind'n'fetch quests.

Little cinematic dialogue, mediocre story and characters, interesting story and lore bits scattered around in random notes. I mean, at least 70% percent of the war table storylines would've been much more interesing as main quests than the actual main quests.

Horrible combat- (since when did DA become a hack'n'slash?) and game mechanincs (the tac cam has to take the stairs), PC optimization and controls.

ZERO official mod support.

I liked the crafting system and the improved graphics.

But since you did not mention why is DAI the pinnacle of all BW games, I'd like to know your points as well.

@OP:

In order to make your post meaningful, you'll have to specify what elements of DAI you'd like to see considered for future games. There are some features where they did well, but also some where they didn't. DAI's implementation of open-world features was seriously flawed, while some of its characters are among the best ever realized in a video game. The main plot worked, but was not very interesting, meaning that that aspect could use some improvement in future games. Roleplaying options were better than in any other Bioware game since DAO, but they still have a long way to go before they match the classics of the times where unvoiced protagonists ruled, the likes of Arcanum and Planescape:Torment

A game is almost never a monolithic block of everything that's good (or bad) in gaming, and DAI is no exception.

This is probably bait, but I'll bite...

I see DAI getting bashed on plenty of forums outside of BSN. When it launched there was a lot of people praising it to the heavens, but time and a bit of perspective has caused many to reevaluate their views on the game and see the flaws that were not initially obvious. The subsequent release of Witcher 3, which arguably did many aspects of an open world game better, also caused people to look more critically at DAI than they has previously. Having said all that, DAI is not a bad game, but it's not even close to being Bioware's best game either.

I've played both, but I love both for different reasons. They are so different regarding the PC and yet share many similarities, but I found myself longing to returning to DAI after I began to see the many similar things. They even have a Veil in Witcher lol but I think their elf villain was a tad bit hotter than our beloved Solas. Ok I have a thing for long-haired men lol

All that aside, I love DAI. It's always new for me each game. Crazy things happen, new dialogue I missed can be heard, and I love how each experience is always fresh and new. I'm a completionist though, so my OCD might have a lot to do with all the new and crazy things I find lol

I hope this isn't bait, because I sincerely agree with this.  There were a few things the older games did better, but I like the direction the series is going.

Among the new elements I really liked were the way they meshed the open-world elements without losing the story (the usual complaint for Skyrim-type games).  I like the crafting system, and the overhauled relationship system, and the customizable base.  I like that they've preserved their usual in-depth characters while removing some of the hokier aspects of their older games.  I like the maturity of the game, the songs and Maryden.  And I like that they managed to integrate these things without losing the stuff that made DA awesome in the first place.

There were a few minor things I would have tweaked - most to newly introduced elements - but my one major complaint is that it's the first BioWare game not to have an epic run-up to the boss battle.  Whether a burning Citadel or burning Denerim or burning Kirkwall - a post-apocalyptic London, or that most masterful of masterpieces the Collector Base - BioWare's final dungeons are usually perfect, often outshining their boss battles (or in ME3's case, lack of a boss battle).  I would have liked something more in the run-up to Corypheus than something to click on a map.

That's the only place I'd like them to take a step backwards, though.  Everything else felt like the right direction for me.

Inquisition is not just the best product BioWare has ever produced but it is my favorite game in my roughly 18 year video game 'career' that I have ever played.  It has a really solid foundation to build upon for future games and now that they have worked out their kinks, take fan feedback into consideration, and fully utilize the tech available I think this franchise has nowhere to go but up.  Which is kinda scary.  Open World or more linear (like Trespasser) I believe BioWare can pull it off.  And give us less repetition in the quests.

I doubt I could take an open world. Witcher's rather open world made my OCD go crazy lol

I have managed to memorize every loot area I've found in DAI. That's how bad I am for that stuff.

That sounds familiar. Though I still regularly miss one of the Bottles of Thedas. That drives me crazy since when I notice it's usually too late and I don't want to go over all the maps yet again.

I know its pulling a technically but many people do call DA I open world.  At least open world ish. I mean granted you can't go from one end of the map to the other, but then strictly speaking you can't in Witcher.

You travel more via the world map in DAI. I found Witcher to be just a tad larger because of the many many many villages you can visit by traveling by foot or on your horse. Thankfully they too have a fast travel for certain areas or I would have lost patience long ago. I think DA4 could be made to have more places to visit, but still let us get there fast if we want, but give us more to work with too.

Inquisition is the most boring BioWare game I've ever played. It's the only BioWare game that I've ever had to force myself to complete. The open environments were absolutely squandered because -- beautiful as they are -- they're completely irrelevant to the half-hearted story the game is telling. They're pretty-but-lifeless time-sinks, when they could have been so, so much more.

Tresspasser is infinitely better than the main game because it gives you a consistently compelling reason to do stuff.

That said -- I agree with Al Foley that Inquisition has fantastic potential. It's a technical marvel that incorporates numerous good ideas. So, with luck, the feedback BioWare have received here and across the internet will help them make DA4 the true and undisrupted Origins-slayer that we desire.

It was a bit odd after playing a female in DAI for so long lol but I got used to playing a guy again. Spent most of my life stuck playing the male hero in other games, and it felt kind of good to be back. I love riding my horse though, but the first time I saw my "trophies" I nearly freaked out

Funny thing is, the gore in Witcher 3 reminded me a lot of DAO. Hung bodies and such. The head chopping action too.

Everything reminded me of DA in the end and I just started a new PT of DAI because of it lol I've yet to even start the search for Ciri in Witcher. The side quests and grinding is killing me!

IDK I mean I just finished Trespassers and I was a little worried about getting back into Ben's playthrough because of how awesome and awesomely linear and story and character focused it is.  But I am actually having a lot of fun going through it again and constantly going over the next hill, the next rise, the next corner.  Exploring, fighting, and conquering, and feeling.

Origin was good but vastly overrated. Nostalgia is the reason why people knock DAI in favour of Origins when in reality, DAI is vastly superior to it in every way(bar villains).

I'd even go with the Villains.  The Archdemon/ Darkspawn are one of the most boring video game monstrosities ever created  .  Which I find it hillarious that they had to go out of there way to overcompensate to actually make them threatening in future titles.  And Loghain was little more then a boring mustache twirling villain.

The GOTY awards speak for themselves bub, the gaming community thinks highly of DAI and it has the awards to show for it bub. What do the opinions of the members of this toxic forum where the devs go outta their way to avoid matter?

DAI was a great game, Biowares best game and the awards clearly show it.
