You'd still do Arrival, and maybe LotSB.

Just goes to show how unnecessary ME2 is!

Hmm... how would Jacob have reacted to that? You could shoot him too, I guess.

That actually could have worked. Shepard steals the shuttle, a short cutscene on the Citadel, and the game just ends right there. A small dialogue change at the beginning of ME3, a WA hit for the Collectors' continued raiding, all ME2 companions except Garrus and Tali flagged as killed.... all you need to do is get the SR-2 into Alliance hands.

How are you gonna get it away from TIM, when you might have heard his name once?

Arrival, sure, just need a different mission start. But does Shepard even go to Ilium if he isn't on the SR-2?

I guess Liara could send a message. Maybe use the VS as a squadmate?

I've always secretly wanted a full game dedicated to the Shadow Broker as the enemy. Not sure how well that would work out, but whatever. Can't let details crush dreams.

I've also always wished that the VS went with Shepard in Arrival. They could share a cell together

Not Shepard, necessarily. Maybe the Alliance raids Cerberus facilities and stumbles across it in drydock?

Actually, we need some way for Cerberus to get their hands on the techs from the Collector base. Maybe someone else commands the SR-2 during the events of ME2. How about a modified version of Vega?

Well, one surefire way is to simply not have the option to blow it up, but rather just have Shepard lug that special device that makes the Collector base sh** the bed with a timed radiation pulse.

Actually a split narrative could have been easily done.
Shoot miranda.
Offer Jacob opportunity to rejoin the fold.
Go to citadel, meet Anderson and VS.
Find out about VS mission and by extension collector plot.
Ksi Leng acts as your cerberus opponent also trying to get the tech (and sets him up for 3 - maybe more reaper upgrades in 3).
Still can do some recruitment - getting the gang back together (maybe grunt is sent by wrex).
In that event you can have garrus, tali and liara easily enough.
With a bit of tweaking it could work fine.

No we don't.

According to Liara in ME1, physical contact isn't always needed for an asari to mate and become pregnant. A connection of minds is what is needed, which the "gift" scene seems to imply.

Wait. So she raped my Jane Shepard?

WTF

Yeah, a common reaction to that scene was "Did Liara just casually rape me?"

And I'm not saying that's what happened.

But I'm not not saying it, either.

People pls. While I too toyed with the idea I SERIOUSLY DOUBT Bioware would canonically have Liara rape Shep so that she could have his/her babies. I'd say I seriously doubt Bioware would feature rape at all but I'm pretty sure what Aria does to Petrovsky when she chokes him to death qualifies in certain jurisdictions.

And with Aria, there is no safe word.

If the lockdown protocol is still a thing, which I can't imagine any reason why it wouldn't be, Cerberus would have a sure grip on the Normandy, since they can just have it remote accessed, so long as the AI is shackled.

Shepard could just jack in and erase EDI with his magic Code Gun. :)

Depends on what you mean by "feature". Bioware's had several characters who've been raped as part of their backstory; Jack is probably the most notable. Leliana's Song DLC also had one scene that strongly implied that Leliana had literally just been raped off screen, though that's never been explicitly confirmed.

As for actually showing a rape on screen? No, I don't imagine Bioware would do that. They did almost include a scene in DAI that someone in the office said could be considered as rape, but that was as unintentional as this was.

But I also don't imagine that we're going to get any kind of resolution on this. I don't think we're ever going to see Liara again, so people can headcanon what they want at this point.

There's also the question of, even if Liara did use the mind-meld to randomize her dna as per Asari reproductive process, if that should be put on the same level as rape. Not only did Shepard agree to the link, but he/she wouldn't be physically violated in any way.

Good thing I walk by the asari at the forward operating base. Or if the player chooses not to talk with her at all in the game, except in cutscenes, she will not offer her 'gift' when you talk with her at the fob

The only problem with Liara is that one of her dialogue paths is buggy for some people, but other than that Liara's romance is the easiest to avoid in ME1. After she expresses her interest in Shepard (I think it's the third conversation with her) you have three options for a response to her:

1) Yes, I'm interested too. (this is the top option)
2) No, I just want to be friends. (this is the middle option)
3) Oh, hell no! GTFO! (this is the bottom option)

Only one continues the relationship. I think the one that does is quite obvious. She also never brings up the topic romance again if you end the romance here, and that's how it should be done. The answers are clear and you don't have to be rude to end the romance.

This is actually bugged for the last one to continue it too. I accidently did it on renedouche.

Needless to say I wasn't pleased. Especially since Liara has a no take basies with her romance.

The Garrus flirt is sort of the exception, I thought, but that's because FemShep can have friendly dialogue with him that actually sounds like banter with no flirty hinting. I also like that the line about relieving stress can be directed instead to literally talking about sparring and hitting things. But yeah, the rest are terrible, and I only like FemShep's flirting with Vega when it's more like he's being trolled for flirting himself.

I liked Gaarrus's romance option.  I had one Shepard who talked about getting together and then they decided to stay friends who blew things up, and another one who treasured his friendship that turned into more than friendship.  It was nice.

Indeed - more people (companions, but also non-companion NPCs of varying importance) should be able to voice their interest in the PC (which should maybe lessen over time or if certain actions are performed (or spike - if others are performed instead!)) - hell, why not give us disinterested characters as well (who you really have to convince - note: yes, there's a line between persistence and being an ass, but I think if done right this would be cool, to) who outright state that they dislike or hate the PC?

I'd really love that :) - hell, maybe some characters could (and should) also hit on your companions and you should be able to help them out (council them - as in advise them on the matter or discourage it etc.))...or they could outright dislike and hate them (just like the PC), so that you have to council them on that as well!

greetings LAX

ps: no, it would not become a dating sim by doing that, it would just emulate reality better IMHO!

I did enjoy talking to Dorian and Iron Bull and in DA2 I loved helping Aveline with Donnic.  This would be nice.

That would actually be decent to have in the game in general, not just in flirting situations.

"I don't care if you like boys OR girls, I just need to know if you've got my back in this incredibly dangerous mission we're about to undertake, we're in a life or death situation here, I don't care to listen to your life story right now."

I like this, but I do want to listen to their life story sometime and I don't want that to initiate a relationship. DAI did this pretty well.

This was my problem with Liara.  I wanted to know as much as I could the first game and like some of the others, even after I told her I was seeing Kaidan she showed up.   I didn't have a problem with Leliana, my mage always talked about hair and shoes and she knew I was involved with Alistair so never mentioned anything about us.

If a companion is interested in the PC they should be able to outright state so, just because some immature people find it offensive that a gay men is hitting on them doesnt mean companion flirting should outright omitted. Why?

Why is it that the PC always have to be the one to initiate the romance? It breaks immersion and makes characters seem more like props. Please fix this bioware.

Problem might be that the game is played by crowds younger than permitted? To avoid potential lawsuits?

But then the problem would be on who's experiencing the content, not on the content itself. If the game is rated 18+ and is clearly put on the box and ads the even the argument of poorly advertised wouldn't come into play.

I mean, I have watched and read stuff when I was a kid that I wasn't technically supposed to and if it has affected me well, it was my fault. I got the warning and decided to go on regardless, the responsability is mine. I know I was a weird kid but I understood that concept of responsability back then. Curiously enough readying the Odissey was perfectly fine by me (my favourite tale the one with the cyclops, and the whole stick in the eye wasn't censored, and I was 5 or 6) while some time later I got a trauma when readying the Hobbit with Gollum. Yeah, of all things Gollum is what really scares me of Tolkien's world, or rather, the concept of a second persona growing in your mind and convincing you to kill loved ones (in Smeagol's case his best friend.)

A small dialogue change at the beginning of ME3, a WA hit for the Collectors' continued raiding, all ME2 companions except Garrus and Tali flagged as killed.... all you need to do is get the SR-2 into Alliance hands.

Why would those two survive? Seeing as he barely survived life threatening injuries as is, without Shep's intervention Garrus certainly dies when his hideout is assaulted. Tali could have been killed by Veetor's mech on freedom's progress (though I doubt it because half her team probably wouldn't have went full retard), and definitely would be killed on Haestrom (this is what happens if you don't recruit her). You get the intel on both of their locations from Cerberus Dossiers.

More than likely such a thing would result in Shep getting stonewalled by the useless Council (either one) and sitting on his arse until the Reapers show up. Whether or not Cerberus succeeds or fails against the Collectors without him is anyone's guess, but it would leave you short a Normandy, list of useful contacts including ones with massive implications on the fates of entire species (Mordin, Tali, Legion), lots of bodies and up on Collectors and a fully completed Reaper.

That is, unless Shep orchestrates the violent overthrow of said useless Council and installs a government that actually has even a modicum of sense (i.e. no position of power for the complacent salarians, asari and turians). Or just becomes galactic dictator. I could have gone for that.
