Inquisition is the best Bioware game since Baldur's Gate!

Hamsters and rangers everywhere, rejoice!

I know I'm late to the party, I just finished Trespasser. But I really want to let the Bioware team know how much I love this game.

Of course it has a compelling story and excellent characters, but those are pretty standard for Bioware. What sets this game apart is that it hits the perfect sweet spot between linear storyline versus sandbox. Like Baldur's Gate, Inquisition combines the best of both gameplay modes to make the experience of a lifetime.

There are a few minor critiques I want to make, though. One is the fight with the emissary mid-way through the Descent DLC. That fight took about 40 minutes in my play though (on easy mode, no less) because I had one party member down, two stuck behind rocks, and the emissary kept popping up that blue shield that had to be slowly chipped away.

The next one might be a bug. During the conversation in Trespasser about how the Inquisition has been infiltrated by Qunari spies, I selected the dialogue option with the red fist ("This ****** thing!"). As furious as my character sounded, her expression remained pretty close to neutral. It was rather jarring.

The last one is admittedly a bit nitpicky, but it bothers me because I've been riding horses my entire life. The inquisitor sometimes mounts or dismounts on the RIGHT side! And the warriors of Thedas usually carry swords on the left hip, so they should have the exact same reasons for mounting the left side as real-world Medieval horse riders did. Yeah I know I can walk around the horse so that the inquisitor gets on the left side, but why should fixing that mistake be my responsibility? It wouldn't have been hard to at least have a stable worker mention that this particular horse has been trained to accept a mount on either side.

Regardless, it's been a truly exceptional journey. It's rare to find a game that is such a work of art. Bioware clearly had some brilliantly talented people working on this. It shows in the soundtrack, the story, the acting, the landscapes, and all the little bits of backstory scattered everywhere.

Once again, thank you. I'm already eager for the next installment.
