I had pretty much left DAI aside since early in the year, but I decided to download and play Trespasser since it was promoted as the end of the Inquisitor's story. I've only played a few hours in so far, and I'm wondering if I'm experiencing a bug or if I'm actually supposed to see what I think I'm seeing, namely:

 

1) Periodically, some guy standing around at the Winter Palace randomly vanishes into a puff of bluish-black smoke; and

 

2) What looks like a remnant of the Fade Rift is visible in the sky, at least when I look through a telescope - it's there if I look in the same direction as the balcony where Cassandra is standing.

 

However, nobody, including the Inquisitor, seems to have any reaction to any of this. I know Thedas can be a weird place, but I would think that people randomly disappearing or the Fade Rift starting to reappear wouldn't just be shrugged off as part of another day at the office. So is this something that shouldn't really be appearing yet? Or is there some way to react to it that I just haven't come across?

The sky was left "scarred" after DAI ended. The Breach, however, is closed. The person disappearing into the "puff" of smoke is a side-quest that grants you a schematic. You're supposed to catch her a number of times.

Those are not bugs:

The guy that vanishes is a mini game, you have to sneak behind him and interact with him to obtain an increase in dexterity, you have to do it 5 times I think.

And the visible rift in the sky is the original rift that remains like this after being closed. I think it is mentioned in the epilogue that yet remains a scar in the sky.

OK, thanks! I'd completely forgotten about the "scar." 

 

Still seems kind of odd that nobody seems to notice the vanishing guy, but I'll try chasing him next time I see him.
