Anyway, back to the topic.
I usually get the first damage skills that I can, then as I progress, I respec to the final build. Auto-attacking is so boring.

Which characters do you do this with? What skills/passives do you like early on for those characters?

Re-spec'ing is great for those of us who are approaching 200 cunning and couldn't care less for the leaderboards.
But, once you're to a certain point promotion / gear wise where materials are useless enough to waste on a respec you might as well just get it to 20 and promote.
Unfortunately, those who could benefit the most from respecs shouldn't waste the materials on them.
So you think it's a Catch-22? I could buy that argument. I find it useful, though I'm only around 120 cunning. I find that I have materials that I won't otherwise use. I'm sure there are many players who are better served using their materials for Dragon Calls or armor or weapon crafting, though, so I see what you mean about having to progress beyond that point.

Lol, let it rest, I make mistakes all the time in my game posts, but I do know the meaning of words, its my profession.

Why do you ask? Can't you read?? It states clearly who I am.

After all it is a game, have fun with testing and experimenting until you are comfortable with whatever build/respec you finally come up with...
The nerfing and changing of abilities are probably over with anyways imho

Yup, pretty much. Cool feature for those of us with tons of materials. I use the respec on occasion if I mess up or want to try something different and change my mind. But I'll never run out of mats.So you think it's a Catch-22? I could buy that argument. I find it useful, though I'm only around 120 cunning. I find that I have materials that I won't otherwise use. Those who actually need to optimize effectiveness through respecs probably shouldn't spend their materials on it. Would still need dragon calls, weapon upgrades ect...
Those of us with 100+ in each promotion might as well play 2 games and promote anyway, as well.
Sort of sucks really, I like the idea you presented in this thread. Optimizing builds by level and using respecs to make the experience as OP as possible, but once you have that many materials you should be farming NM anyway. Time it takes to respec isn't worth it.
