On the map?

I've searched all over and can't find it. Only one i can find is the other option Thom Rainier's Fate.

I asked myself this a lot of times too..

I've actually never seen it as a separate mission.

Then I read somewhere that the "alternative" is actually the solution that Leliana gives you, so it's in the same operation. I have no idea if this is true.

Do you have Underworld Knowledge?

Ugh. No. It takes underworld knowledge?

I know it's trivial but i'm not someone with a pool of power points to spend on every single little thing.

Yeah you need Underworld Knowledge for the alternative. Then a separate wartable mission will appear where Leliana will offer to spring Thom secretly.

It's one power point. Just fill a requisition.

Yeah, either do quests that grant a lot of influence, or track down the Power for a Price merchant in Skyhold (assuming you have him) and buy a bunch of treaties. Treaties mostly grant power, but they do also provide a lot of influence, which is what you need for perks. Most non-repeating war table missions also provide influence.

The knowledge perks are good to have, anyway. I usually try to get all 4 early on.

I just ended up using the power point i already had. As far as it being only 1 point,  i have to admit that i do a lot better at games like Dragon Age 2 which had smaller areas to roam around. DAI is so large that sometimes i end up getting lost, get frustrated and just end up skimming it to where i get just enough points to do the main mission so a lot of times i don't have the simple things that would give me the points.
