When i play a DPS charachter i like to move around the battlefield and pick isolated target but i don't want the tank to follow me... he has to stay where the crowd is to taunt and tank for mage and archer

The problem is that the tank always follows me because in tactics i have "follow the controlled.."

I tried to change but when i changed it happened that Cassandra/Blackwall didn't move at all!

Maybe because enemeis were too far and they shouldn't follow me so they did nothing.

Playing assiassing i leave my group a bit far using stealth and i go to onshot an enemy in their backline.

after that, when enemies react,i would like my group to go into the fight but since they don't have to follow me they do nothing! Or at least i didn't find the right settings (i didn't try so much honestly)

Any suggestion?

Since tactics are already bad i don't want to have to control manually my teammates for this.

This is one of the few things they can do with tactics so i want them to do it!

Tank follow self. Everyone else follow tank. Relaunch game if ai freezes out. And when near enemies hit the z key? Basically that key is command "attack my target" , that should initiate combat for the whole party.

only if they are not doing anything or are too far away. It helps, but that's how the game works unfortunately. Basically as long as you hit one button (attack my target) at the beginning of the fight that should initiate combat and then they will fight as they are supposed to and use abilities until the end of the fight.

They should have something like "find a target" (even if far) when fights start unless i order "hold position"

Alternatively, you can take control of your tank/frozen character and move them in some way - jump, swing a sword, use an ability and they will unfreeze and switch back to your inquisitor.  They will then attack as normal.  Sometimes this also happens to your party mages too.  I've never seen it happen to the rogues, but that doesn't mean it doesn't.

Yes. On first contact if far away. Usually you only have to do this once, though. For example, if you have Cassandra Follow Cassandra and all other characters (except yours) have Follow Cassandra, you need to control Cass or use Tactical to send her into battle. Then you can ignore her, she'll do fine in a mob and acquire new targets by herself -- as long as they are nearby or if they do damage to her, like an enemy archer.

If no new enemy attacks her or is nearby, she might go back to standing still, so you still have to watch out for that. As suggested above, use Attack My Target command if they run out of enemies and stand still.

I use PC and I use the F1-F4 keys to quickly cycle through characters to make sure they are not standing still and not getting overwhelmed through bad AI. It only takes a couple of seconds to cycle through all characters and check that everything is okay.
