All I care about is BW giving the next lead an actual personality. The way Shepard and Hawke had, or that you could develop. And not like the Inquisitor; a blank slate that never ever develops from being that.

I hate the Inquisitor, but I love Shepard and Hawke. They are the main reason I replayed the ME series and DA:2 numerous times.

If they go the way of DA:I, I'll be sure to never buy another game from BW.

By ME3, Shepard had two personalities:  sad, and p*ssed off.

Good luck if you wanted something else.

I'm the exact opposite. I like how they handled the Inquisitor while Hawke and Shepard are my least favorite Bioware protagonists to date due to how predetermined they are.

I didn't realize how much I missed Hawke (and Jo Wyatt's voice acting) until that quest in DAI. So I replayed DA2, enjoyed it even more than the first time.

Boring inquisitor was the most disappointing thing about DAI to me.

I loved Shepard getting so emotional in ME3. I thought terminator Shep in ME2 was awful. Making Shep actually feel like a human being in ME3 fit paragon very well. But I can understand other people not enjoying forced emotions.

I guess there is no solution that will make both camps happy. Mutually exclusive approaches, sadly.

Will the protagonist be a human? I'd love to play as an alien. Humanity has already had it's time to shine in the Mass Effect universe.

At this current time, we are stuck with only being human in Mass Effect: Andromeda.

ME3 Paragon Shep is a huge wuss. The Renegade's pretty sensible though, and I thought reasonably beliveable enough a character.

ME2 Shep of course didn't feel human but more like a big dumb action hero. It matched the rest of the game I guess.

Best Shepard though was ME1 Renegade TrollShep. Hanging up on the Council of Douches, calling an entire species Big Stupid Jellyfish, telling bums on the Citadel to get a job, practically laughing at Benezia/Saren while he guns them down, telling Sovereign immediately after its intimidating monolouge that it's just a stupid toaster that s/he's gonna break (foreshadowing of the Catalyst!), telling Hackett to eat a dick constantly and threatening to throw squadmates into a Volcano.

That Shepard may have been retarded but it was just glorious.

Renegade Shepard needed more renegade interrupts in ME3

I liked Shepard in ME2. Making a batarian drink his own poison. Pushing the guy out the window

I don't have a problem with any of those things.

Too bad that couldn't be an option to actually throw the character in the volcano

I agree. Having to act like a huge, appeasing sissy to the Asari councilor every time she started acting bitchy (when we could earlier tell the Dalatrass to shut up and stop whining with one, and also punch Gerrel with another) was the most annoying part IMO, but I could have also used many more for EDI and Legion (one of the two I got for the latter was way too soft as well, though telling the not-Legion/Geth VI to go find the airlock is always fun).

Killing that dirty squint bartender with his own poison was fantastic. Personally, I like the renegade persuasion more with window Eclipse guy. It's a more refined example of intimidation.

neither do I, I do most of them in most of my playthroughs. It's pretty silly and rather unrealistic that you can just tell off superiors in your CoC like the Admiral, but then again Paragon Shep defeats the Reapers with the power of friendship....soo.

Personally, I like the idea of an interactive airlock. It would definitely have been something I could have used for a few characters. Javik could have been the operator in ME3. He probably would have spaced the toasters without my even needing to ask.

I have accepted that Sheperd wont be in Andromeda.

But prays that the final scene of the game, there is a shock reveal/twist that has something to do with Shepard.

How do you think they can pull off a better-defined personality without restrictions player choices? Before ME1 started, the game didn't know if I would be Paragon or Renegade.

Good, I don't want Shepard.., he was so yesterday.., or in his case, last century (maybe).

I am happy for Bioware to create anther trilogy in the Mass Effect style..., after all the game is called "Mass Effect" not Shepard.

Lets have a new hero, with new ideas, exploring new places, seeing new creatures and new villians.

New is good.

Cheers

And let's hope they leave behind the tired, ugly old "eternal conflict between organics and synthetics" thing.

I prefer Shepard/Hawke/Geralt/whatever, rather than blank slate, dull protagonist, where I have to headcanon his personality, which is ridiculous and breaks my immersion.

Thank God.  It's the one thing that gives me hope MEA doesn't end up being space Inquisition.

I have absolutely no problem, with shepard not being in ME:A...

Just needs decent to good characters and more of the same interesting universe (or the style). Places to go, explore and learn about. People and races to meet.

Please, Mike, don't walk the crooked the path in the Mass Effect universe. Don't be dark like Morinth, you're better than that.

Why?  There is no crooked path when I play Mass Effect.

As far as the Morinth thing goes. I only recruited her once just to see the difference otherwise I let Samara kill her if I decide to do her loyalty mission and that's if I recruit Samara

The other thing is the majority of my playthroughs are renegade. That will not change when the next game is released

Fair enough but again, does the authorial intent matter?

Never.
