Has the connection to EA servers been really bad lately. I mean they aren't ever perfect but even by the standards I have for this game lately I can't even finish a match without getting disconnected. Or if I'm at the main menu I'm disconnected. Or if I'm buying something in MP store I'm disconnected.

Or as soon as I boot up the game I'm told servers are not available. Only to log onto them right away. as soon as I accept the message.

So is it just me lately with EA server BS. Or are other players experiencing it as well?

PS3 if that means anything. And I have tried port forwarding suggestions EA has. Actually seems to make the connection worse after I forward the ports.

For PS3 I noticed having UPnP in connection test passing the test is a must. That's all I know.

Maybe all the people that run the EA servers for ME3 MP are busy playing Halo 5?

I have played 2 matches since last night on xbox.. no probs connecting...

I tried to play a few matches today and I lost my connection in all 3. Not sure if it's the server or my router TBH but I'd never count out the server being the culprit.

Sadly my NVG510 router which is required for U-verse doesn't support UPnP.  Kind of wish it did. Hence why I tried port forwarding to alleviate the issue. Which seemed to have the opposite side.

^ I think I read UPnP not passing prevents you from connecting to certain players too... but I forget. Though I'm sure someone will correct me.

Either way, my UPnP test sometimes fails on PS3, so I had to check it often or when I suspected something was up (ie. more frequent disconnections). A modem reset was always required to fix it.

One thing that told me UPnP wasn't working was when everyone readies up in the lobby, and during the load screen or just before the match I would lose connection.

Well my router lacks UPnP. Though from what I understand it helps auto forward ports more or less.

Anyone know how legit portfowarding.com Cause it lists a lot that EA doesn't seem to

Just to make sure, you're using a hardwired connection, right?

Nope wireless. But up until about a few days ago never mattered. A few disconnects every now and then. But nothing on this level with this game. All other games never had an issue.  Then again my only other EA online game is FUSE. And with that my issue was more relegated to being unable to host games. I could still join MP and Co-op single player and play without issue.  Had to port forward a bunch of stuff to gain the ability to host.  Mostly so me and my gf could play together.

^ It wouldn't hurt to try wired connection and see if you spot a difference. Because I bet you you'll notice an improvement. Because, yes, for this EA game, it matters.

...try wired connection ...

Bc with wifi u have 2 ask also (perpetually),

-Was the microwave in use,
-new bluetooth headset acquired/ bt forgotten on on your "smart" Android mobile?,
-the fishtank moved,
-the dect(cordless) phone coincidentally cyclically polling all its registered and neighbours devices, exactly when u readied up,
- Zigbee actuator / sensor moved, incl radar perimeter sensors detecting a cat straying by,
- A fluorescent bulb replaced with a new brand,

...
etc. etc. pp.

A much needed BSN "code of honor" should be called to life to oblige one to reveal to other players when u r hosting via wifi or the airport lobby. (Ideally a subsecond parachute escape launch button included)

Well can't. And again never had this level of issue before. I've had the game about a year now. Played it then never got into MP. Only withing last couple months have I picked up the trilogy again and actually gotten into MP side.  Only about a week has this disconnect really been an issue

Fuenf789 is right. There are so many things that interfere with Wi-Fi, that's it's a running joke, and that I'm surprised folks even still use it for gaming.

And you mean to tell me your modem don't support a wired connection? Return that cr@p back to Wal-Mart.

But if you're determined to play with Wi-Fi, here are some tips I've learned;

- place modem and console in mating position.

- turn off all wireless things (phone, wireless headset, wireless gamepad, skynet, etc, etc.).

- make sure you don't live in a massive apartment with 3 other massive apartments right in front of you. Because apartments have phone signal repeaters to reach top floors, and lots of people using their phone and Wi-Fi as well.

- make sure it's a full moon outside.

- pm Niniendowarrior (you can find him in any WiiU topic) about how to block unwanted signal interference.

- play standing on your head. The blood flow to the head I heard also suppresses unwanted Wi-Fi signals too.

Maybe in theory, but in practice there are a lot of badly configured 5GHz (and 2.4GHz) routers out there, and you still have no idea what your neighbours are doing with theirs. Wired connections eliminate many of the potential problems in one fell swoop.

My brother's on PS3 and he's had almost no luck playing the entire last week. The few times he's gotten into a match at all he's just ended up getting kicked. And he wonders why I don't play much anymore...

I have (for PC, mind you) 6000, 3659, 56536, and 7673 UDP forwarded for ME3 and have for a very long time. So at least some, if not all of these are legit.

It has wired. But has about 3 cement walls between my PS3 and router.

Also had wireless for years. Basically ever since I got PS3 which it is one of the old fat 60 gb ones. Wireless has always worked good for me. Tried wired for a weekend when family was out so they wouldn't be stepping on it. Honestly not that much of an improvement besides increased download speeds.

I use wireless as well so off host matches for me are painful more than I'd like. I've had some friends who I just can't play on their host. Luckily, I have done alright with my country ass DSL for the most part.

The bandwidth available on 5Ghz far exceeds that on 2.4Ghz (in terms of channels). Even if they are using up a 40Mhz block you still have over 150Mhz available and the range means that there isn't as much overlap.

5Ghz master race.

The available bandwidth has relatively little impact on the things that make wireless problematic.
