Some fans have commented on the "Hollow Earth" theory after Descent came out. There's also the Scaled Ones, possibly serving as the Reptoids. If Bioware wishes to say a whole world does exist undernearth Thedas, would you all prefer to explore in a separate, dwarven-centric game? Or is okay to just let them touch on it in the next game while focusing on Tevinter?
If Thedas is on a Hollow Earth...

Both would be preferable but if have to choose a different game. I'd like to really explore the deep roads and can't see that just being a side quest etc.
Would be on board for a full deep roads DA.

I'd rather it be a DLC or an optional part of any game. My least favorite place in Origins was the Deep Roads. Miles and miles and miles of nothing but darkspawn, whackadoo golems and spiders. Descent was interesting because graphics improved and it was actually beautiful to look at instead of grey on grey on grey stone, had a new race of dwarves and some interesting bits of lore. Even the darkspawn portions (which I'm getting pretty tired of after three games) was fun.
I wouldn't mind it as an optional part of the next game, or a DLC, but wouldn't buy a game centered on dwarves, being a dwarf, and doing nothing but exploring deep roads as I am really not fond of the dwarves of DA.

I don't know if I'd like a whole Deep Roads DA - though I liked DAI's version better than previous games. Still, if there was a whole world down there, it could get pretty interesting.
That said, I am really looking forward to Tevinter, and I'd like a couple of games at least to linger in the north. Maybe DA6 or 7 could be Dragon Age: Journey to the Centre of the Earth. Let's at least tie up Solas and the Qunari, and maybe weave these elements in a little tighter over the course of DLC and sidequests before we dive into a whole game of them ![]()

What makes people think the planet is hollow? Of course it's solid. The "air" and "sunlight" we saw in Descent was inside of a titan. We were never looking at the planet itself once we entered the dark passages.

If so, then I hope we get to fight Nazi mad scientists and ride dinosaurs with a bunch of pulp superheroes.

While I wouldn't mind a game based around the deep roads and learning more about Thedas' 'underworld', I definitely would be against a dwarf-centric game. All in all it would be best if they continue to focus on the surface world and use the deep roads as the occasional source of unimaginable terrors that pop up from time to time.

I'd rather a DA4 that focuses on Dwarves as much as DAI focused on Elves, and have at least one big quest where we go to these Deeper Than Deep Roads. Descent just being a small test run.

It doesn't have to be completely hollow, but have huge empty pockets where life exists. I'd love to see how many of the hallucinations we heard about in the Descent DLC were accurate. The floating golden longboat could have been the invisible bridge leading to the Nug King. But the 'hairless children' could have been the Darkspawn children from the "Awakening" DLC. That's bad news.

It would be interesting to see more of what's deeper than the deep roads, like in descent. I mean there was plant life down there so its not like it would all have to be darkness and darkspawn,
They'd need populated areas, though, wouldn't feel like a dragon age game if it were all dungeon. We only saw a few key areas of orzammer, they could do Kal-Sharok in a lot more detail, or even let us visit both cities. They'd have to really give a lot more work to cities then in prev. games.
If they had it so that the dwarves are retaking parts of the deeproads then they could have a lot of outposts/partially repopulated thaigs too, the pc could be helping reclaim them, visiting areas that you cleared and claimed to find them now with populations and new side quests (eg. like helping establish a food source) would be so satisfying.
Major quests could include
- Reclaimng areas from the darkspawn and helping the dwarven kingdom become more independent.
- Dwarven political crisis, conspiracy, or reform
- Finding out how Kal-sharok survived
- Being sent to help find out more about titans, lyrium, and their relationship to dwarves by going beneath the deeproads
- Accidentally finding an old god (possibly as post game dlc to setup the next games blight plot, ala legacy)
I'm warming up so much to this idea, to paraphrase Cassandra - I'd play the **** out of this.

I'd consider playing a game centered on the Deep Roads. I'd want to see some reason to believe that there was somehow some variety of environments and enemies despite it being underground, but if there was, why not?

All I want to really see is an Old God prison. That or an Old God untainted.
Avernus said the Black City is the key to understanding the taint, so somehow they must connect!
If they do let us face an untainted Old God, I hope Bioware gives us the choice of freeing one to get real answers to the Blight. Solas might object but WTF cares about his opinion now?

I'm somewhat disappointed we didn't get to see the one in Heidrun Thaig.
I'm looking forward to more Deep Roads. The surface world just always seems the same, while the Deep Roads still have secrets to reveal.

Wouldn't the Grey Wardens have responded if that were the case? They know where the remaining Old Gods are imprisoned, but they can't reach them because of the darkspawn hordes.

We have no idea what "inside a titan" means. We followed a bunch of caves, ended up in more magical looking caves, and it turned out those caves were a Titan. For all we know the entire "planet" is a series of interlocking Titans, and there's no such thing as "not" being in or on a Titan.

Holy crap, I think I finally understand this song! It's totally about Thedas.
https://www.youtube....0AQW6zqP9E#t=30
There's a rumblin' groan down below
There's a big dark town, it's a place I've found
There's a world going on underground
While the rest of the world is asleep
Below the mineshaft roads it will all unfold
There's a world going on underground
Swing from town to town
They are marching around down under your boots
All the trucks unload
Beyond the gopher holes
There's a world going on underground

I hope so too. I'm curious about the last 2 ones that remain, especially Razikale, who is the only female Old God of the group. She's been spoken of a lot in DAI, so I think we might encounter or hear more of her in DA4.
Wouldn't the Grey Wardens have responded if that were the case? They know where the remaining Old Gods are imprisoned, but they can't reach them because of the darkspawn hordes.
I wonder if that's what they were doing when we run into Nate in the Deep Roads in DA2. He tells Hawke that the GW are following the path they made when they went exploring but wouldn't say what their intent was. And if you let the Architect live, he says he's kept the Darkspawn from attacking them as best he could, but I doubt even that was enough if you actually get closer to a prison. I think Cole nearly did in the Western Approach or sensed it or something.
